Add your Leave Applications

This step allows you to simulate real-world scenarios, validating the accuracy and effectiveness of leave management in a controlled environment. By inputting leave applications, you can gauge the system's response, ensure seamless processing, and fine-tune your understanding of the leave management process. This practice not only prepares you for the intricacies of parallel testing but also lays the foundation for a successful transition to live operations.

Important

When employing the Employment Hero HR system alongside Payroll, leave applications will primarily be handled through this portal. Once approved, they will seamlessly transition into the payroll system. During parallel testing, it's advisable to input leave solely into the Payroll platform. This is to validate accurate application handling and to enhance your grasp of the process. This also allows you to delete anything more easily in the one platform.

Instructions

Apply for Leave

  1. Access your Employment Hero Payroll platform by logging in.
  2. Navigate to Business > Leave > Create requests.
  3. Pick the relevant employee(s) for the leave application.
  4. Choose the appropriate Leave Category (e.g., Annual, Sick, etc.).
  5. Note: Include any relevant notes.
  6. Indicate the start and end dates of the leave period required.

Important

The section below confirms the selected employees and displays their available leave balance. If the leave balance is insufficient, the platform will highlight this in red. As this is for testing, you can override this warning and grant leave approval.

  1. Check the box Approve Immediately.
  2. You can decide to approve the leave request instantly or shift it to "Pending" status for later assessment.
  3. Click Save.

Edit Leave Applications

Once a leave request has been approved, a manager with editing permissions can edit the leave request if required.

  1. Access your Employment Hero Payroll platform by logging in.
  2. Navigate to Business > Leave > Manage requests.
  3. Click on the pencil icon situated to the right of the request. It is important to note that you can only make changes to a leave request prior to its application or if only a portion of it has been applied in a pay run. Keep in mind that fully applied leave cannot be altered.

Delete Leave Applications

Once a leave request has been approved, a manager with editing permissions can edit the leave request if required.

  1. Access your Employment Hero Payroll platform by logging in.
  2. Navigate to Business > Leave > Manage requests.
  3. On the Leave Management page, locate the Pending leave request you wish to edit and click on the bin icon.
  4. Confirm deletion.

Important

All testing data will need to be removed from the platform prior to going live, including leave applications.
