Set up and manage your organisation's calendar feed for your payroll classic platform

The Payroll Calendar Feed feature lets you sync payroll events with external calendars like Google Calendar or Outlook. This allows employees to view company events, such as leave requests and birthdays, in one place. Simply generate a calendar feed, copy the link into your preferred calendar, and update or remove it as needed.

Helpful Hint

When you ‌connect to the calendar feed, it will show future events only.

Getting started

The below premises will walk you through how to add a new calendar feed to your organisation's payroll classic platform and also how to copy the calendar URL.

Add a calendar feed
  1. Log into your Employment Hero payroll classic platform.
  2. Click the   Business Settings menu.
  3. Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
  4. Click the   Calendar Feeds button.
  5. Click the   Add button.

  6. Complete the following fields:
    • Name.
    • Event type:
      • Approved leave:
        • Employee group.
      • Pay run:
        • Date type:
          • Pay day.
          • Period end date.
        • Pay schedule:
          • Weekly.
          • Fortnightly.
          • Monthly.
      • Birthday:
        • Employee group.
      • Anniversary:
        • Date type:
          • Start date.
          • Anniversary date.
        • Employee group.
  7. Click the Save button.

Copy a calendar URL
  1. Log into your Employment Hero Payroll platform.
  2. Click the   Business Settings menu.
  3. Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
  4. Click the   Calendar Feeds button.
  5. Click the   button.

Maintain

The below premises will walk you through how to generate a new calendar URL, edit the data if it changes, and delete a record if it is no longer needed.

Generate a new calendar feed token
  1. Log into your Employment Hero Payroll platform.
  2. Click the   Business Settings menu.
  3. Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
  4. Click the   Calendar Feeds button.
  5. Click on the calendar feed that needs a new token generated.

Edit a calendar feed

Helpful Hint

You cannot change the event type for a calendar feed after creating it, to avoid unexpected feed updates.

  1. Log into your Employment Hero Payroll platform.
  2. Click the   Business Settings menu.
  3. Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
  4. Click the   Calendar Feeds button.
  5. Click on the calendar feed that needs editing.

Delete a calendar feed
  1. Log into your Employment Hero Payroll platform.
  2. Click the   Business Settings menu.
  3. Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
  4. Click the   Calendar Feeds button.
  5. Click the   button.

Further information

Calendar feed caching

To provide our users with the best possible performance without comprising our platform speed and quality, we cache each calendar feed. This means it is not a real-time feed, but a delayed view. Also, several internet calendar providers such as Google Calendar and Outlook Live/ Hotmail, will also cache our calendar feeds, causing further delays to the data displayed.
