When your employees submit leave through the HR platform, we will factor in the relevant public holiday into their leave requests. The process is automatic and the platform will apply the relevant public holidays to an employee's leave request without you needing to do anything.
To use this Public Holiday Calandar feature, you must first set up your locations. To read details on how to set up a location within the HR platform, please refer to this article. Setting up locations will allow you to link your employees to a public holiday calendar, and then allow the employee to submit accurate leave requests based on only the public holidays that only affect their requested dates.
Things to note
- For any Custom Public Holiday Calendars, these will need to be updated every year, as they are not auto updated by the platform.
- Where multiple Public Holiday calendars have been set up and linked to a particular Location, all the public holidays combined within both calendars will apply to the employees who are classified under that Location
- Newly created Public Holidays will only be applied to any future Leave Requests that haven't yet been submitted by employees

Getting started
- Click the Settings menu
- Click the Locations and Public Holidays submenu
- Click the Public Holidays tab
- Click the Add New Calendar button
- Click the Custom Hourly Calendar tick box.
- Complete the following fields:
- Name
- Locations
- Year
- Click the Add New button to enter your custom public holiday.
Helpful Hint
Click the Remove button to delete a custom calendar entry.
- Click the Submit button.
Editing data
- Click the Settings menu.
- Click the Locations and Public Holidays submenu.
- Click the Actions button.
- Click the Edit button.
- Edit the following fields:
- Name
- Locations
Helpful Hint
You can use the Calendar Year drop-down to see what public holiday dates the HR platform has provided for a different year. You cannot edit the Year field; it is merely there to show you the public holidays for a given year.
- Click the Save button.
- Click the Settings menu.
- Click the Locations and Public Holidays submenu.
- Click the Actions button.
- Click the Edit button.
- Make the required changes and click the Save button
Warning
When editing a public holiday calendar, the HR platform will prevent you from removing any holiday date that has a leave request attached to it, which you can see when the platform greys out a public holiday date.
Removing data
Warning
When deleting a public holiday calendar, we will prevent you from removing this entry if any holiday date within the calendar has a leave request attached to it. You can see this info as the platform will grey out a public holiday date that is in use.
Is it possible to access standard public holiday calendars for multiple countries?
At this stage, only the Standard Public Holiday Calendars for your organisations original country use on your platform are available. I.e if you set up your orginal country as Australia you will only be able to access the Australian standard public holiday calandar even if later on your add a New Zealand country location to your platform.
