Submit timesheets on behalf on an employee

Available for the following Payroll plans: Standard, Premium

In your organisation, you may have employees who need to submit a timesheet that lists out what hours they worked and the breaks they took over their last working week. By utilising an online timesheet submission system, your employees can submit their hours wherever they are, be it in the office or in the field. With this information sent through to their manager to review and approve.

The Submitting a Timesheet for an Employee feature allows your organisation's payroll admins to submit a timesheet for any employee. They can specify details such as the start and end time of the shift and breaks taken, the work type it falls under, and the location. You can also use this feature to add an employee's standard hours, copy timesheets from the last fortnight, and edit any information if it has changed.

Important

If you are submitting a timesheet on behalf of a contractor, please ensure that you do this in Employment Hero. It is not possible to submit timesheets for contractors in the Payroll classic platform. For more information, visit this article.

  User Access:   Employee         Manager         Admin      

  This is the default access level per user and whether they have  view,  edit and  delete access, excluding any changes made via our Custom Security feature.

Add another timesheet line
  1. Click the  Time menu.
  2. Click the Create Timesheet submenu.
  3. Click the Actions   button.
  4. Click the   Add Another Timesheet Line button.

Add an employee's standard hours
  1. Click the  Time menu.
  2. Click the Create Timesheet submenu.
  3. Click the Actions   button.
  4. Click the   Add Standard Hours button.

Copy timesheets from the last week
  1. Click the  Time menu.
  2. Click the Create Timesheet submenu.
  3. Click the Actions   button.
  4. Click the   Copy Timesheets from Last Week button.

Enter timesheet hours instead of start/end times
  1. Click the  Time menu.
  2. Click the Create Timesheet submenu.
  3. Click the Actions   button.
  4. Click the   Enter Hours Instead of Start/End Times button.

Submit a timesheet for an employee
  1. Click the  Time menu.
  2. Click the Create Timesheet submenu.
  3. Complete the following fields:
    • Employee.
    • Period ending:
      • Week.
      • Fortnight.
    • Date.
    • Work Types.
    • Start time.
    • End time.
    • Break start.
    • Break end.
    • Cost centre.
  4. Click the Save button.

Reverting timesheet changes
  1. Click the  Time menu.
  2. Click the Create Timesheet submenu.
  3. Click the Actions   button.
  4. Click the   Revert Changes button.

Editing a timesheet entry
  1. Click the  Time menu.
  2. Click the Create Timesheet submenu.
  3. Complete the following fields:
    • Employee.
    • Period ending:
      • Week.
      • Fortnight.
    • Date.
    • Timesheet costs:
      • Show timesheet costs.
      • Hide timesheet costs.
  4. Make the required changes and click the Save button.

Clearing all timesheet entries
  1. Click the  Time menu.
  2. Click the Create Timesheet submenu.
  3. Click the Actions   button.
  4. Click the   Clear Timesheets button.
