How do I set up an open-ended leave request via HR classic?

Using open-ended leave requests allows employees to request leave without specifying an end date. This relieves the burden of having to anticipate when they will need to return, while still allowing businesses to manage their staffing levels.

It also provides more flexibility and freedom for employees to take leave as and when they need it and can be especially useful for employees with caring responsibilities or those who need to take leave for an extended period of time.

Getting started

Set up a leave type as open-ended
  1. Select the Settings menu.
  2. Select the Leave Settings sub-menu.
  3. Select Add leave type.

  4. Enter the details of the new leave type.
  5. Select the No option under Require an end date on leave request submission. openleave02.jpg
  6. Select Save.

  7. Enter the accrual details of the leave type.
  8. Select Save.

  9. Add the employees who can apply for this leave.
  10. Click Save.
