The Company Feed feature allows you to create a Shout Out, Recogntion, or Milestone post that your organisational users can view, react to, and comment on. Thereby creating a culture that promotes open communication, fosters morale, and makes sure employees feel appreciated for the work they do. You can also use this feature to post an announcement to your company feed that users can react to and comment on. Before being able to send a recognition post, you will need to have created company values and configured recognition settings.
Warning
Please note that your posts, shoutouts, and company feed announcements do not auto-save during the creation process, and you will need to re-type your post or announcement if you quit this page without posting your message.
Post a message
- Click the Home menu.
- Click the Shout Out and Recognise your Peers button.
- Click the Give a Shout Out button.
- In the text box, type in your shout out message.
Helpful Hint
Typing @ into the text field, followed by an employee's name, will tag that employee in the shout-out. Shout-outs do not have a limit on the number of employee tags, so there is no limit to how many employees it can include.
- Click the Paperclip icon to add an attachment to the announcement.
Important
The HR Classic platform only allows you to attach images (.jpeg, .png, and .gif) and documents (.pdf) to a Shout Out. The ability to attach images and documents to a Shout Out is only available on our Premium, Platinum, Plus, and Unlimited plans.
- Click the Share with drop-down menu and select either:
- Everyone: Every employee in your organisation will see the shout-out.
- Mentioned only: Only the nominated users and their managers will see the shout-out.
- Press the Send button.
- Click the Home menu.
- Go to the Company Feed tile.
- Click the Shout out to and recognise your peers! button.
- Click the Make an Announcement button.
- In the text box type in the desired announcement.
Helpful Tip

Important

- Teams: Only the teams selected in the drop-down box will receive the announcement.
Important
The option to select teams is only available on our premium and platinum plans. You can paste links into your post, however they will only be clickable if you make the announcement via the website.
- Click the Post button.

- Log in to Employment Hero.
- Click the Home menu.
- Click the Shout Out and Recognise your Peers! button.
- Click the Recognise a Teammate button.
- Complete the following fields:
- Who would you like to recognise?
- Choose company value
- Reason

- Click the Send button.
- Click the Got It button.

Important
To be able to see and post about an employee's milestone, you will need to be a manager of the employee, and you will need to have permissions to see that employee's Personal Details tab in their HR file, which can be granted via Custom Security Settings.
- Click the Home menu.
- Click the Shout Out and Recognise your Peers button.
- Click the Manage Scheduled Messages button.
- Select the employee needs a message scheduled.
Helpful Tip:
If there are no employees displayed, this means that there are no employees who have a work anniversary or birthday in the next eight days.
- Click on the milestone and complete the following fields:
- Date.
- Time.
- In the text box, enter the desired message.

- Click the Schedule button.
Important:
Clicking the Schedule button will trigger the message to publish on your organisation’s company feed on the date you have chosen.
Editing data
Available for the following HR plans: Platinum
Warning
You can not edit a milestone message once you have posted it on the company feed.
- Click the Home menu.
- Click the Shout Out and Recognise your Peers button.
- Click the Manage Scheduled Messages button.
- Click the employee who needs a scheduled message edited.
Helpful Tip:
There is a clock symbol displayed next to an employee that has had a scheduled message.
- Make the required changes and click the Schedule button.
Commenting and reacting
Available for the following HR plans: Premium, Platinum
- Click the Home menu.
- Click the Add a Comment button.
- Type in your comment and click the Send button.

Deleting data
Available for the following HR plans: Premium, Platinum
Important
Only admins can delete a recognition post.
- Log in to Employment Hero.
- Click the Home menu.
- Click the Three Dots button.
- Click the Delete Post button.
Further Infromation
With the milestone posting feature, it is the employees' date of birth and start date that drives this feature. So make sure your employee data is accurate and up to-date to make sure milestones appear at the correct time. Also, the Milestone feature only displays in-platform if you have reporting employees, i.e., only an employee's primary manager can schedule a message for these types of events.
