Welcome to this week's release notes June 12 - 18 2023. Over the last week we have released an update to our Swag, app and some exciting payroll integrations.
Releases
Ability to archive deprecated feature flags in SAP
Release Schedule: 12th June 2023
Feature flags can now be archived via the SAP UI, reducing confusion around which flags are in use or not and removing unused flags from the UI. New flags cannot be created with the same name as an archived flag. Teams should also ensure that unused flags are removed from the codebase first before removing from SAP.
Preferred pronouns in Employee Profile
Release schedule: June 15th 2023
Users can now add their preferred pronouns in their Employee Profile via the Personal Details tab. The following options are available and not a mandatory field:
- He/Him
- She/Her
- They/Them
- Other
Alternative pronouns can be classified as Other.
Real time InstaPay for all
Release schedule: 13 June 2023
InstaPay real time is now public. All users will now have access to real time InstaPay. Instead of waiting 1-2 business days to receive funds, they will arrive within a few seconds to their nominated accounts
New InstaPay waiting period
Release Date: 13th June 2023
We are making sure that an organisation has been on a paid plan with EH for 2 months before InstaPay is enabled. This provides an additional layer of checks for an org before accessing money via InstaPay. This new enhancement is for any new organisation onboarded from 13/06/2023 or any org that is on a free plan and upgrades to a paid plan from this date. This wait period can be framed as a way for an organisation to get familiar with EH, Swag and the product offering before the feature is then available to access
Delete candidate profiles on SAP
Release Schedule: 9th June 2023
We have added a “Delete applicant” button under the ATS detail section on the user's SAP page. Clicking the button will first prompt an alert confirmation before soft-deleting the user’s Swag candidate profile only (no employee data if they had any).
AI assisted message generation in Candidate Info
Release Schedule: 14th June 23
We have enabled recruiters/hiring managers to use AI to generate well-crafted messages when responding to candidates at various touchpoints.
A new AI button has been added to:
- Candidate Info
- Direct Messages
- Email Templates
AI Cover Letter Generator
Release date: 15th June 2023
We want to help candidates stand out and get them past the resume screening phase of hiring. Logged in candidates can find a “Generate cover letter” tile under an application page.
- Clicking on the tile CTA will open a modal where candidates can generate their cover letter.
- Clicking on the AI magic wand will generate a tailored cover letter by parsing in the user’s resume and the application’s job description.
- Candidates can customise the format of their cover letter using a rich text editor.
- Clicking “Save” will open a new tab displaying their generated cover letter (along with any rich text edits) in a pdf template which users can download.
Upload files to goals/OKRS
Release date: 12th June 2023
We have added the ability to upload files to company goals. This allows uploads and downloads when creating new goals and editing existing goals.
Hiring Essentials UX enhancements Pt.2
Release Date: 14th June 2023
Changes implemented:
- Allow users to invite a team member directly on step 3 of the job creation wizard.
- Allow users to set up 2FA right away without being redirected to the account settings page when prompted
Update Tax rate and tax relief changes for 2023

Last week, we have received confirmation from LHDN that the proposed changes to tax rate and tax relief in Malaysia Budget 2023, tabled on 24 February, are now in force.
Tax rates for tax resident individuals for the year of assessment 2023 for the following chargeable income bands will be reduced by two percent:
- RM35,001 to RM50,000 (-2%)
- RM50,001 to RM70,000 (-2%)
- RM70,001 to RM100,000 (-2%)
Tax rates for tax resident individuals for the year of assessment 2023 for the following chargeable income bands will be increased by between 0.5 to two percents:
- RM100,001 to RM250,000 (1%)
- RM250,001 to RM400,000 (0.5%)
- RM400,001 to RM600,000 (1%)
- RM600,001 to RM1,000,000 (2%)
Tax relief
Medical treatment expenses limit is increased from RM8000 to RM10,000. The scope of relief is expanded to include intervention expenditure for Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome and Specific Learning Disabilities, limited to RM4,000.
The existing relief of RM3,000 on life insurance premiums is expanded to cover voluntary EPF contributions.
Tax relief for child care fees is extended until the year of assessment 2024.
Tax relief on net deposit into the slim simpanan pendidikan is extended until the year of assessment 2024.
