The User Security Overview filtering capabilities allow you to quickly identify specific groups of users based on their security settings. You can narrow down your user list by criteria such as 2FA status, authentication methods, and SSO configuration to ensure your organisation meets security compliance standards. These tools help reduce the time spent on security audits and make it easier to manage user access at scale.
This article will show you how to manage the following:
- Apply basic security filters
- Combine multiple filter categories
- Share filtered security views
- Reset active filters
Apply basic security filters
Narrowing your user list by primary security attributes helps you quickly find users who haven't yet enabled critical security features.
- Log in to Employment Hero.
- Navigate to the User Security Overview page.
- Locate the Filters panel positioned prominently on the page.
- Select a category such as 2FA Status, Passkey Status, or SSO Status.
- Choose a specific status, such as Enabled or Disabled.
- Review the updated user list, which refreshes automatically within one second to match your selection.
Helpful Hint
When you apply a filter, an active filter indicator will appear near the controls to confirm the list is currently restricted. The user count will also update to show how many users meet your selected criteria.
Combine multiple filter categories
You can combine different filter groups to find very specific sets of users, such as Administrators who are currently using SMS for their two-factor authentication.
- On the User Security Overview page, open the filter panel.
- Select one or more options within the User Type group, such as Admin or Manager.
- Select one or more options within the 2FA Methods group, such as SMS or TOTP App.
- Check the results; the system uses AND logic across different groups to narrow the results.
Important
Filters within the same group (like selecting multiple User Types) use OR logic, meaning the list will show users who match any of the selected roles. Filters across different groups use AND logic to refine the list further.
Share filtered security views
Since filter states are saved in the URL, you can easily share specific audit results with other administrators.
- Apply the desired filters to your User Security Overview list.
- Copy the URL from your browser's address bar.
- Send the link to another administrator via email or messaging.
- When they open the link, the same filters will be pre-applied to their view automatically.
Helpful Hint
You can also bookmark these URLs in your browser to quickly return to common security audits without having to re-select the filters manually.
Reset active filters
Quickly return to the default view of all users without manually unchecking every selection.
- Locate the Reset Filters button in the filter section.
- Click the button to clear all active selections immediately.
- The full user list will reappear, and the active filter indicator will disappear.
Helpful Hint
If no users match your current filter combination, a "No users found" message will appear. You can use the Reset button or adjust individual filters to find the results you need.
