Build Your Own Report now includes a Compensation Cycles data source, giving you a dedicated way to report on compensation cycle outcomes across your organisation. You can include fields such as increase percentage, new salary, current annualised salary, increase amount, change reason, eligibility, and approval status — then filter and sort the results to focus on exactly the employees or cycles you need.
Before you start, make sure your organisation has Compensation Management enabled.
This article explains how to:
- Build a Compensation Cycles report
- Filter and sort your Compensation Cycles report
- Further information
Build a Compensation Cycles report
Follow the steps below to create a new custom report using the Compensation Cycles data source and choose the fields you want to include. Once created, the report is saved automatically and your results are displayed immediately.
- Log in to Employment Hero.
- On the left-hand navigation menu, click on Reports.
- Select Create new report to open the Build Your Own Report wizard.
- In the data source picker, select Compensation Cycles.
- Choose the fields you want to include in your report. Available fields include:
- Cycle Name — the name of the compensation cycle
- Cycle Status — the current status of the cycle (e.g. Active)
- Increase % — the salary increase percentage for each employee (e.g. 10 represents a 10% increase)
- New Salary — the employee's salary after the cycle, rounded to two decimal places
- Current Annualised Salary — the employee's annualised salary at the time of the cycle, rounded to two decimal places
- Increase Amount — the monetary value of the salary increase
- Change Reason — the reason recorded for the compensation change (e.g. Promotion)
- Eligibility — whether the employee was eligible or ineligible in the cycle
- Approval Status — the approval state of the employee's compensation outcome
- Select Create to save the report. Your results are displayed immediately.
Helpful Hint
If an employee has participated in more than one compensation cycle, they will appear as a separate row for each cycle — each row shows the data specific to that cycle.
Filter and sort your Compensation Cycles report
Use filters and sorting to focus your report on a specific cycle, a subset of employees, or to surface outliers such as the highest salary increases.
- Log in to Employment Hero.
- On the left-hand navigation menu, click on Reports.
- Click on My Reports.
- Open your Compensation Cycles report.
- Locate the Filters panel.
- To show data from a single compensation cycle, apply a filter on Cycle Name and select the cycle you want (e.g. "Q1 2026"). The report will show only rows belonging to that cycle.
- To narrow results by cycle status, apply a filter on Cycle Status and select the status you want (e.g. "Active").
- To show only eligible or ineligible employees, apply a filter on Eligibility and select Eligible or Ineligible.
- To focus on a specific reason for a compensation change, apply a filter on Change Reason and select the relevant reason (e.g. "Promotion").
Helpful Hint
Filters are applied automatically as you select them — your results update immediately in the table.
- Log in to Employment Hero.
- On the left-hand navigation menu, click on Reports.
- Click on My Reports.
- Open your Compensation Cycles report.
- Locate the Sort options at the top of compatible report columns.
- To see employees with the highest salary increases at the top, sort by Increase % in Descending order.
- To see employees with the lowest new salary first, sort by New Salary in Ascending order.
Helpful Hint
Sorting is applied automatically when you select a sort option — your results update immediately in the table.
Further information
If an employee has participated in more than one compensation cycle, the report returns one row per cycle for that employee. Each row shows the data specific to that cycle. To see data for a single cycle only, apply a Cycle Name filter to scope the report to the cycle you need.
Yes. Compensation Cycles data is also available as a secondary data source when building a fully custom report using the Create my own option. This lets you combine compensation cycle data with other employee data in a single report.
The Increase % field displays the salary increase as a human-readable percentage — for example, 10 represents a 10% increase. Salary values such as New Salary and Current Annualised Salary are rounded to two decimal places for clarity.
