Core 1 - Mandatory
Adding your employee data
Important
You will only need to attend either; Adding your employees via payroll OR Loading employees via CSV upload which ever suits your requirements.
Adding your employee data via payroll
From your setup dashboard
- Navigate to Adding your Employee Data
- Select Set Up Now (or complete).
- Read through the prompts to understand how to prepare for your Payroll Integration.
- Click on General Settings menu.
- Select Add-Ons and find your payroll platform
- Select Connect. Read through the Payroll Integration Wizard to understand more about the connection between Employment Hero and your payroll.
Important
Ensure the email address listed on the final page matches the email address you use in Payroll. If these emails are not the same, you will duplicate your profile which will cause some unnecessary double handling.
- Once you click the Connect button, Employment Hero will redirect you to your payroll platform
- Enter your Payroll Admin Login credentials.
- Choose the appropriate entity from the dropdown menu
- Select Allow Access.
Warning
You can only integrate one entity with your Employment Hero HR Platform.
All organisations will receive a notification that says ‘we have detected some conflicts’.
Examples of notifications
E-mail address is not unique
This employee has not been imported as they're using an e-mail address that is duplicated in your payroll platform.
How to resolve this conflict
In your payroll platform, change the email address in the respective employee files to ensure they don't match with another employee. You may also need to check for duplicate accounts for this employee.

Loading employees via a CSV file
Loading employees via CSV upload using your own template
From your setup dashboard
- Navigate to Adding your Employee Data
- Select Set Up Now (or completed).
- Select Import Employee Data in Bulk.
- Select People.
- Select Import Employees.
- Use the grey box to upload your file
- Use the Map Your Columns page to make sure all of the fields are imported to the correct space in Employment Hero.
- Select continue.
Loading employees via CSV upload using your own template
From your setup dashboard
- Navigate to Adding your Employee Data
- Select Set Up Now (or completed).
- Select Import Employee Data in Bulk.
- Select People.
- Select Import Employees.
- Use one of our templates by selecting Quick Import Employees and Download.
- Complete each of your employees:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Account Email
- Employing Entity
- Location
- Then save as a CSV file
- Use the grey box to upload your file
- Select continue.
You will now see the Imported Successfully page where you will see the number of employee records created or updated.You can also click theGo to Employee Page button to view the new or updated employee records.
