Jump to the section you need:

- If no date is set, you will see "Duties start date has not been provided" and a pencil icon. Click the pencil icon to enter the date.
- Enter a valid duties start date, then click Save.
- After you set the duties start date, enter a re-enrolment date. Click Save or Cancel, as needed.

Important
When you delete a scheme, you also delete its related contribution plans. You cannot delete a scheme while it is assigned to an employee.
- From the pension schemes list, click the scheme you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
- If the scheme is not assigned to an employee, confirm the deletion.
Manage contribution plans for each scheme
You can add, edit or delete contribution plans for each pension scheme. These plans set your contribution rates and offset thresholds.
- Log in to Employment Hero as an Admin.
- Click Settings, then click Pensions.
- Click a pension scheme to view its contribution plans.
- Within a pension scheme, click Add Contribution Plan, or click an existing plan to edit it.
- Select the Pension Type: Net Pay or Relief at Source.
- Enter numeric values, up to two decimal places, in the following fields.
- Employee Contribution (%)
- Employer Contribution (%)
- Salary Sacrifice (%)
- NIC Rebate (%)
- Set the plan frequency to Weekly or Monthly.
- Turn each of the following options on or off, as needed:
- Auto-enrolment scheme
- Pension calculated on qualifying earnings
- Tax month pay period
- Set the offset options for the Lower Earnings Limit (LEL) and the Upper Earnings Threshold (UET):
- Select LEL Offset, LEL Offset x 1.5, or UET Offset. The amount fields fill in automatically and lock, so you cannot edit them.
- Select No LEL Offset or No UET. The values stay on screen and the fields unlock, so you can edit them.
-
Make sure the LEL is less than the UET. If the values are not valid, an error message appears and you cannot save.
Helpful Hint
A UET of zero is valid and means there is no cap.
- Click Save. Your contribution plan stays saved after you log out and log back in.
- Within a pension scheme, click the contribution plan you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
- If the plan is not assigned to an employee, confirm the deletion. You cannot delete a plan while an employee is assigned to it.
Choose the postponement rule for employee enrolment
A postponement rule determines when employees are enrolled into a pension. The rule you select applies during employee pension assessments.
- Log in to Employment Hero as an Admin.
- Click Settings, then click Pensions.
- In the pension settings, find the postponement rules section.
- Select one of the following rules:
- Employer duties start date
- Employee joins the company
- Employee reaches age 22
- Employee becomes eligible after initial assessment
- You can have only one postponement rule active at a time.
Resolve common pension settings questions
You cannot delete a pension scheme or contribution plan while it is assigned to an employee. Unassign it first, then delete it.
The LEL and UET set the thresholds for calculating pension contributions. The LEL must be less than the UET. A UET of zero means there is no cap.
Complete every mandatory field with valid information. If a field is missing required information or has an invalid date format, an inline message tells you what to fix before you save.
