The payroll dashboard lets you view pay runs by Pay Date or Processing Date. Pay Date is always selected in the dropdown by default.
When you select Processing Date, the date range, quick filters, table sorting and deadline tags update to show your operational work deadlines, rather than payment dates.
This article explains how to:
- Switch between Pay Date and Processing Date
- Understand table sorting and deadline tags
- Use quick filters with processing dates
- Further information
Switch between Pay Date and Processing Date
The Date type dropdown sits above the date range filter on the Dashboard. Pay date is selected by default. You can switch between Pay date and Processing date at any time.
- Log in to Employment Hero and go to the Payroll Dashboard.
- Find the Date type dropdown above the date range filter. It shows Pay date by default.
- Select the dropdown and choose Processing date.
- The table, quick filters and summary cards update to use processing dates. Your date range stays the same.
Helpful Hint
Date ranges carry over automatically when you switch date types, so you do not need to set your dates again.
Understand table sorting and deadline tags
When Processing date is selected, the table sorts pay runs by the earliest processing date first, so the nearest deadlines appear at the top. Deadline tags move under the Processing Date column, and the Pay Date column no longer shows them.
- Overdue by X days: The processing date has passed. The number shows how many days ago it passed, for example, Overdue by 1 day or Overdue by 7 days.
- Due today: The processing date is today.
Helpful Hint
Switch back to Pay date to see the deadline tags under the Pay Date column again.
Use quick filters with processing dates
The quick filters are presets for common deadline views: Overdue, Due Today, Due This Week and Due This Month. When Date type is set to Processing date, each preset filters on processing deadlines instead of pay dates.
- Set the Date type dropdown to Processing date.
- Select a quick filter: Overdue, Due Today, Due This Week or Due This Month.
- The table and summary cards update to show only the pay runs that match that processing deadline.
- Check the Processing Date column for the matching deadline tag, such as Overdue by 7 days or Due today.
Helpful Hint
Quick filters follow the date type you select. If Date type is set to Pay date, the same presets filter on pay dates instead.
Further information
No. Switching the date type only changes how the Dashboard filters, sorts and tags pay runs. It does not change any pay run, pay date or processing date.
The date range stays the same when you switch, but it is applied to the date type you have selected. A pay run can fall inside the range by its processing date and outside it by its pay date, or the other way around. The totals in the summary cards can therefore differ between the two date types.
Yes. Filters such as Statuses and Country remain applied when you switch date types.
