Whether your Canadian workforce is operating remotely, in a hybrid model, or from a central office, your organization must track the physical assets assigned to employees. Maintaining a history of asset ownership—knowing who has which resource and for how long—improves transparency, reduces loss, and assists in calculating depreciation for tax and accounting purposes.
The Inventory by Status Reporting feature provides a real-time overview of your resources. It allows you to analyze what is currently available for allocation, what is already assigned to Canadian team members, and what may be pending return. You can also export this data for deeper analysis in tools like Microsoft Excel.
1. Creating an Inventory by Status Report
Follow these steps to visualize the current distribution and availability of your organization's property.
Log in to the Employment Hero platform.
On the left-hand primary sidebar, click the Reports menu icon.
Click the Other Reports tab located at the top of the reporting dashboard.

Click the Asset Reports box.
Helpful Hint: This will open an overview page displaying four distinct areas of asset reporting.

Analyze Status: Locate the Inventory by Status graph. To view a detailed list of assets for a specific state (e.g., Available or Allocated), click directly on the relevant segment of the graph.
Helpful Hint: You will now see the specific details for assets with that status. You can click the Filter button to narrow the results by Canadian provincial locations, departments, or specific asset categories.
2. Exporting Asset Status Data
For internal auditing or to coordinate with your IT procurement team, you can export your filtered inventory list.
Navigate to Reports > Other Reports > Asset Reports.
Click on the relevant section of the Inventory by Status graph to isolate the data you need (e.g., all Available laptops).
(Optional) Use the Filter button to refine the data before exporting.
Click the Drop-Down button (the downward-pointing triangle) near the top right of the table.

Click the Export CSV button.
The file will be generated and saved to your browser's downloads folder for immediate use.
