This article explains how admins can change the clock-in and out settings for all employees at organisations using the HR version of the clock in and out feature. You can turn the clock in and out feature on or off and also require employees to capture photos when they clock in and out.
Changing clock in and out settings
Turn on or off Clock in and out
- From the homepage, click the Settings menu.
- In the Time & Attendance section, click Clock In & Out.

To enable clocking in and out, toggle the switch on for Clock in and out on the Employment Hero Work app.
- The clock in and out feature is enabled if the switch is purple. If it is grey, the feature is currently disabled.
Require employees to capture photos when clocking in or out
- From the homepage, click the Settings menu.
- In the Time & Attendance section, click Clock In & Out.

To require employees to capture a photo when they clock in/out of work and when they are starting/ending a break, toggle the switch on for Capture employee photo when clocking in/out.
- The photo capture feature is enabled if the switch is purple. If it is grey, the feature is currently disabled.
Enable work site geofencing
The worksite geofencing feature lets you limit clocking in and out to specific worksite locations. Set up geofencing for each worksite on its settings page.
Enabling work site geofencing will introduce additional fields in your team's timesheet form. When you first enable the feature, you will be prompted to review what will change and set up the required information before your team starts clocking.
- From the homepage, click the Settings menu.
- In the Time & Attendance section, click Clock In & Out.

To enable the feature, toggle the switch on for Work site geofencing.
- The work site geofencing feature is enabled if the switch is purple. If it is grey, the feature is currently disabled.
- After enabling the feature, you can then choose what happens when an employee tries to clock out outside the work site geofence.
