You can create custom leave reasons for specific sick, or other reasons that align with your company’s policies. Employees can now select these custom leave reasons when applying for leave, if that leave category requires a leave reason.

Getting started
Create custom leave reasons via the leave category tab
- Select the Settings menu.
- Under Payroll Settings, select the Leave Settings option.
- Select + Add Leave Type, or if you want to apply this to an existing leave type, select Edit.
- In the Other Settings box, enter your new leave reason, then select the + [new custom leave reason] button.
- Select Save when you are done.

System created leave reasons, or leave reasons that have already been used in an existing leave request cannot be deleted or disabled.
Enable/disable custom leave reasons
- Select the Settings menu.
- Under Payroll Settings, select the Leave Settings option.
- Select the Advanced Settings tab.
- For the custom leave reason you would like to enable/disable, select the toggle. If you are unsure whether the custom leave reason is currently enabled/disabled, the toggle will display a check mark, while a disabled leave reason will be grey.
- If you wish to disable an enabled custom leave reason, you will need to confirm the decision by selecting Confirm in the modal that appears.
- To enable a disabled custom leave type, select the Available toggle, which will show a check mark if it is enabled.
