Week 9 2025 | Release Notes

These release notes cover Monday, the 24th of February to Friday, the 28th of February.

(BAU) Platform + Security

Invalidate Sessions When Accounts are Locked (mobile)

  • Description: When a user account is locked on Employment Hero, some active sessions remain valid, posing a serious security risk—especially in cases of suspected or confirmed breaches. If sessions persist, an attacker can continue accessing data despite the lock. To ensure security, all active sessions must be terminated immediately when an account is locked.
  • Product features:
When an EH account is locked, all active sessions are immediately terminated.
Users are logged out from all devices and EH services, including EH Work and Jobs.
Mobile apps automatically redirect users to the login page.

Perks and Fintech - Money

EWA Recurring Push Notifications

  • Objective: Increase awareness of when EWA recurring payments are successful or when and why they are not by sending users push notifications.
  • Description: Currently, users of EWA recurring are opting out due to either not receiving any money or not knowing when they have received their money. This is due to the unpredictable nature of recurring by amount. The unpredictability is less of a problem for choosing your own pay cycle but will still be a problem when users also set an amount. The solution includes adding push notifications for all EWA recurring subscriptions.
      • Recurring by amount
      • Choose your own pay cycle (by day or by day & amount)
    • By default, users are opted out and will need to opt in themselves. User will be alerted whenever there is a:
      • Successful payment - applies for all 3.
      • Failed payment - only applies for by day and amount when there is an insufficient balance.

Pre-Payroll (Time Off Management)

Time Off Rounding for Holiday Entitlement Time Off

  • Description: Clients will be able to select a time off rounding rule to round up partial time off entitlements to either:
      • The nearest 0.5 day/hour increment.
      • The whole day/hour increment.
    • When creating/editing a time off type, clients can enable/disable their time off rounding rule for this time off type. Note that the time off rounding rule will only be enabled/enforced when:
      • The time off type is entitlement-based.
      • Time Off type provides time off in Hours or Days (not weeks).
      • Time Off policy provides an annual entitlement (not monthly, weekly, etc.).
      • Time Off Calendar: Allow time off to be added through the calendar.
  • Objective: To improve the UX of the Time Off Calendar in the UK to make it more intuitive by allowing users to initiate a time off request by clicking on a day in the Time Off Calendar.

Custom Time Off Reasons

  • Description: Our current Leave Reason feature includes a predefined list of sick reasons for employers to use. However, some employers require the flexibility to customise these reasons to better align with their internal policies, industry-specific needs, and reporting requirements.
They can now manage their custom time off reasons under the new Leave Settings> Advanced Settings tab so that they can accurately track their staff's absenteeism in line with their company's policies.
  • Note: The custom reason will only pick up in the Sickness Report if it's been used against a leave type containing the work 'Sick'.

UK HR/PY

Sync UK payroll documents to the EH HR platform

  • Description: Currently, employees are unable to access any payroll documents on the EH platform and can only access them via the Payroll platform. We want to allow employees of HR + PY connected businesses the ability to view and download their P60 documents in the HR platform.
  • Solution: There is a new Payroll document type within the document widget in employee files and also in Documents under Compliance. This release covers the P60 document syncing to HR for viewing/downloading by employees once the documents have been published and sent out in Payroll (other payroll documents will follow).
