Settings Uplift - Slice 1
Objective: Improve consistency across the settings pages
Description: To create a more cohesive experience across all settings pages, we’ve made the following updates:
- Each settings page now displays its correct title, both within the consolidated settings view and on the individual page.
- A brief description has been added to the top of each settings page to clarify its purpose.
- Breadcrumbs have been introduced on all settings pages to make it easier to return to the main consolidated settings view.
- All pages now use a full-width layout for a more consistent look and feel.
- Save and Cancel buttons are now consistently placed on the right side of the page.
- Some settings pages have also been renamed for clarity:
- Notifications Settings → My Notifications
- Custom Branding → Branding
- Employment Settings → Employment Details
- Signature Management → My E-signature
- Employee Engagement Settings → Happiness Surveys
- Review Settings → Performance Reviews
These updates aim to reduce confusion, improve navigation, and make it easier to understand the purpose of each settings page.
Release Schedule: 05/08/2025 - Updates have been added to the existing open beta 'New Settings Look & Feel'. Additionally, any new customers who joined from 15/05 onwards will automatically receive these updates.

Enhanced Login Experience - Brand New Login Page
New Login Experience: Say Goodbye to Login Headaches! We're thrilled to announce a major refresh to our Employment Hero HR web login experience! This isn't just a visual facelift; it's a strategic update designed to make logging in faster, smoother, and more intuitive for every single user. This is the new login experience that new users or existing users that wishes to sign in with a new account form their quick login page.
What's Changing and Why It's a Big Deal
1. The One-and-Done Email Screen
- What it is: The first thing every user will see is a single, clean email prompt. They just enter their email and hit "Continue."
- Why it's exciting: This simple change is a game-changer. It eliminates the friction of trying to remember & which login method to use. We're removing the mental load and letting the system do the work.
2. Smart and Personalized Login Pathways
- What it is: After the email is entered, the system intelligently guides each user to their specific login method.
- Why it's exciting: For our password-only users: The flow is streamlined directly to the password field, getting them in the door faster than ever.
For our users with multiple options (like SAML SSO): They will be presented with a clear and concise menu of all available sign-in methods. This puts them in control and provides the flexibility they need. The result? A login experience that feels personalized, intelligent, and effortless. We're moving away from a one-size-fits-all approach and giving our users a login flow that works for them.
How to experience the new default login page? Existing Users from Quick Login Page > On your Quick login page > Click on Sign in with a new account and you will be redirected to the new login screen > New visitor to secure.employmenthero.com > Will see the new login screen

Passkeys on Payroll Web
Description: We have introduced passwordless login in the form of Passkeys to improve login usability and security. This release includes the following functionality:
- Everyone has the option to set up and use passkeys on our web platform.
- Up to 10 passkeys can be added in account security settings.
- Passkeys can be viewed and deleted in the passkey management modal.
- Users with passkeys set up can use it to log in to payroll on the web without entering email + password, or 2FA.
- Emails are sent out to users when passkeys are added or deleted for awareness.
- Non-customer facing - SAP passkey deletion and audit logs.
- Features that will not be in the internal testing release, but will be in the public release.
- Reauthenticating inactive session using passkey.
- Passkey reset integrated with existing 2FA account recovery process.

Performance Management
Streamline Two-Way Performance Reviews with Flexible 9-box Visibility and Feedback Tools
Objective: Traditional performance reviews can be time-consuming and admin-heavy. This release helps reduce the operational burden on managers and HR teams, while supporting timely, transparent feedback and compliance needs, such as SOC2.
Description: We’ve delivered a set of enhancements to modernise how 9-box performance and potential assessments are managed and shared:
- More inclusive language: The previous 9-box labels have been renamed to use more neutral, agnostic language—making them easier to apply across different organisations.
- Manager feedback fields: A text field is now available by default for managers to enter comments alongside each 9-box score update.
- Org-wide visibility control: P&C Administrators can now enable or disable score visibility across the organisation. By default, this is set to OFF.
- Granular comment visibility: Once visibility is enabled, managers can choose to mark individual comments as visible or not visible to the employee (default is not visible but will retain last saved setting once a rating has been given).
- Score + comment history: A history log is now stored, capturing:
- Previous 9-box scores
- Associated manager comments
- Date of update
- Manager who made the change
- Employee-facing view: Employees can see their current 9-box score and any manager-marked visible comments in their employee profile under Performance > Performance & Potential.
These updates provide a more agile, feedback-driven approach to performance reviews. One that still meets compliance needs but significantly reduces overhead.

Talent Marketplace
Job Seeker Experience Consolidation
Description: The previous experience for job seekers on the EH Jobs old homepage lacked clear guidance and provided ineffective job recommendations, leading to a slower application process. To address this, we have consolidated the job seeker experience to help candidates apply for their first or next role faster. The key changes include:
- Removal of the old homepage.
- A new "Find Work" page: The Job Search page now serves as the homepage and integrates job recommendations directly, allowing candidates to see relevant matches immediately upon logging in. We have also refined the CTA for setting up SmartMatch and removed irrelevant calls to action.
- Enhanced search functionality: We've implemented synonym and fuzzy search capabilities to provide more relevant search results. The search functionality now also applies to SmartMatch jobs, returning a more comprehensive list of relevant opportunities.
- Prioritised applications list: On the applications page, the most important applications are now ranked at the top. Any application that becomes active (e.g., is moved to "in progress" by an employer or has a new message) will automatically appear at the top of the list.

Sync UK Payroll Documents to the HR Platform
Description: As part of the UK payroll docs that can be synced from Payroll to HR, we have now enabled the sync for Auto Enrolment letters. When Auto Enrolment letters are saved in Payroll, the letters will be synced to the Documents widget in the employee file, where they can be viewed and downloaded by admins and employees. The Auto Enrolment letters will also be available in the Compliance>My Documents area under the Payroll Documents section.
