Employment Hero lets you convert time off entries into timesheet submissions. With this, you no longer have to manually track and reconcile time off entries for employees prior to upcoming pay runs. This feature significantly reduces the risk of missing approved time offs, miscalculations, and incorrect pays.
Configuring time off to timesheets settings
Enable time off to timesheet conversion
- Click Settings on the left-hand side menu.
- Under Time & Attendance, click Timesheets.
- Toggle the switch button on for Time off to timesheets. The switch is on if it is purple.
- Click the Save button on the lower right-hand side of your screen.
Getting started
Time off entries eligible for timesheet creation
A time off entry is only eligible for automatic timesheet creation if it meets the following conditions:
- The time off has been approved.
- The time off request is linked to a work type.
- The work type linked is eligible for the employee.
Time off requests converted to timesheets will appear under the "Approved Time Off Requests" pink banner in Timesheet Management.
Time off entries that have already been successfully converted into timesheets will not appear on this list anymore.
Create timesheets from approved time off
- Click Time on the left-hand side menu.
- Under Timesheets, click Timesheets Management.
- Click the Approved Time Off Requests pink banner to see all time off entries that can be converted into timesheets.
- You can click the name of each employee on the list to view their approved time off entries, grouped by time off category.
- A small yellow icon, which you can hover your mouse over, will appear for any time off category where the time off duration does not match the calculated timesheet hours.

For each day, these details can be edited except for the date:
- Date.
- Time off duration (hours and minutes).
- Start time.
- End time.
- Work site.
- Position.
- Time off type.
- You can create timesheets for the following:
- All eligible entries: Tick the Select All checkbox.
- Specific employees: Tick the checkboxes for the names of the employees needed.
- Specific timesheet entries: Tick only the checkboxes for each entry needed.
- Click the Create Timesheets button in the upper right-hand side corner of the pink banner.
- The feature will flag if your converted timesheets overlap with any existing timesheet submissions from the employee.

A summary pop-up will appear. Click the Done button to close it.
Important
- On the Timesheets Management page, the timesheets created from time off entries will have a banner showing the time off category for it.
- Non-eligible managers will just see "On Time Off" instead of the time off type.
- All timesheets created still need to be approved.
