Set up and manage your Sage 50 accounting export file via payroll classic

A journal file export service is a tool that allows you to select the accounting software file export that matches your accounting platform's requirements, so that you can capture journal entries in your chart of accounts. If you use Sage 50 for your accounting software and journal service, and Employment Hero for your payroll, you would simply select the Sage 50 Accounting file option on your Employment Hero Payroll platform via the Journal Service feature.

After selecting the Sage 50 export file option and setting up your chart of accounts, you can download your payroll journal data from a finalised ‌pay run and upload into your Sage 50 platform. We also format the export file data to reflect automatically your Sage 50 reporting layouts, reducing the work needed on your end to upload your data onto your Sage 50 platform.

Getting started

The below premises will walk you through how to set up your Sage 50 Accounting file export.

Set up your Sage 50 file export
  1. Log into your Employment Hero platform.
  2. Click the   Business Settings menu.
  3. Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
  4. Click the   Integrations button.
  5. Locate the Sage 50cloud logo and click the Add button.

  6. Click the Enable button.

Please refer to the support article for more detailed information. there are then buttons to cancel or enable.

The below premise will walk you through how to disable your Sage 50 Accounting file export.

Disable your Sage 50 file export
  1. Log into your Employment Hero platform.
  2. Click the   Business Settings menu.
  3. Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
  4. Click the   Integrations button.
  5. Locate the Sage 50cloud logo and click the   button.

In the sage 50 cloud panel, the no entry icon is highlighted in red. clicking this is the first step in disabling sage 50 cloud.
  6. Click the Disable button. You have then disabled the integration. 
    popup to disable sage 50 cloud. it reads Are you sure you want to disable Sage 50? Disabling the journal will remove the current chart of accounts configuration, and will need to be re-configured when enabling another, or the same, journal service. with cancel and disable buttons.
