Submit daily unit-based timesheets

Available for the following plans: Employment Lite, Employment Plus, Employment Unlimited
Available for the following HR classic plans: Standard, Premium, Platinum
Available for the following Payroll classic plans: Standard, Premium
Available for the following user access levels: Employee  

The My Daily Units Based Timesheets feature allows you to log your units worked each day and also provide additional details to your entries, such as the work type and any corresponding comments.

The feature also lets you edit and delete submitted timesheets as and when required.

Note: To use this timesheet type, you will need to first create the required work type in the Payroll platform. For setup guidance, refer to this article.

Getting started

This section will walk you through how you can submit the units you have worked at your organisation through to your manager for approval.

Add a new timesheet
  1. Click the   Time menu.
  2. Click the Timesheet submenu.
  3. Click the Add New Timesheet button. addtimesheets.jpg
  4. In the Work Types field select the Units of Work option.
  5. Complete the following fields:
    • Date.
    • Unit of work.
    • Cost centre.
    • Comment.
  6. Click the Save button.

Manage data

This section will walk you though how you can view, edit and/or delete a timesheet entry you have submitted for approval.

Filter displayed timesheets
  1. Click the   Time menu.
  2. Click the Timesheet submenu.
  3. Click the Filter drop-down.
  4. Choose the required data range.
  5. Click the Search button.

Important

The ability to view a timesheet is only available if payroll has processed the timesheet. Use the Clock symbol to see the payroll status of the timesheet. You can access further information on the meaning of the clock symbol in the Definitions: Symbols section of this article.

  1. Click the   Time menu.

  3. Click the Action   button.

    Helpful Hint

    You will now see the details of your timesheet on your screen.

Edit my timesheet entry

Important

The ability to edit a timesheet is only available if payroll has not processed the timesheet. Use the Clock symbol to see the payroll status of the timesheet. You can access further information on the meaning of the clock symbol in the Definitions: Symbols section of this article.

  1. Click the   Time menu.
  2. Click the Timesheet submenu.
  3. Click the Action   button.
  4. Click the Edit button.

Delete my timesheet entry

Important

  1. Click the   Time menu.
  2. Click the Timesheet submenu.

Further information

Definitions: Timesheet status
Pending A manager needs to approve the timesheet.
Approved A manager has approved the timesheet.
Declined A manager has rejected the timesheet.
Definitions: Clock messages
Created at Provides a timestamp of the timesheet creation date
Synced at Provides a timestamp of when the timesheet tried to sync with Employment Hero Payroll.
Sync successful Determines whether the synchronisation of the timesheet between Employment Hero and Employment Hero Payroll has been successful.
Edited at Provides a timestamp of the last edit done to the timesheet after a previous Employment Hero Payroll synchronisation attempt.
Definitions: Symbols
Icon Name  Description
  Blue clock Used for approved, pending, or declined timesheets that have not synchronised with Employment Hero Payroll.
  Green clock Used for approved timesheets that have synchronised with Employment Hero Payroll.
  Red clock Used for approved timesheets that has not synchronised with Employment Hero Payroll.
  Orange clock Used for pending, approved, or declined timesheets that have had changes made to them after being synchronised with Employment Hero Payroll.
  Message The employer has left a note regarding this timesheet.
