This feature, as covered in the video below, enables you to avoid nominating employees as an Employment Hero Admin unnecessarily. In other words, you can tailor the platform's access levels based on the needs of your employees.

FAQs

  What is two-factor authentication?  

2FA is the requirement for two means of authentication when logging into the platform. Your first means of authentication will be your password; your second means will be a unique special code received via SMS or through an authentication app (this will depend on how you set up 2FA).

  Who needs to set up 2FA?  

Anyone who has access to information that they can only access by setting up 2FA. I.e, this would be anyone with an admin or owner permission on the platform, as they can view all information and anyone that you may assign additional permissions to, via custom security groups.

  What are the fields that require 2FA?  

These fields will vary from country to country; however, you will see a message advising to set up your 2FA (if not already set up) if it is required when viewing this information.

  What fields can managers, by default, see for their reporting employees?  

Primary, Secondary and Indirect Managers can see the following information by default for their reporting employees: Overview, Leave Details, Assets, Reviews and Additional information. Please refer to the following article for more information.

  Can I grant managers permission to view additional information (e.g. payroll details and HR Documents) for their reporting employees?  

Yes. You you can do this via Custom Security Settings.

  Can I grant all permissions that admins/owners have to users (who are not admins or owners) via security groups?  

No. Whilst there is a large list of permissions that you can grant to users who are not admins or owners, there are still some permissions that only admins and owners can have.
