How to manage Leave Allowance Templates by Hero Academy Training

Leave allowance templates enable you to create a pre-defined set of leave categories that have their own accrual rates. Which you can apply to new and existing employees, reducing the administrative time spent managing leave categories and accrual rates per employee. When you change a template, all employees assigned to update in bulk as opposed to updating each employee record individually. 

The Leave Allowance feature allows you to create a new leave allowance template, specify what leave categories to enable, and override the default leave accrual setup if it needs changing. You can also use this feature to edit any information if it changes, view the employees assigned to each template, and delete a record if it is no longer required.

If you are a HR+PY connected client, from October 2023, you will be notified about our new integrated feature where HR will be your source of truth for all Leave settings.   I do not require every leave category in the new Leave Allowance Template (LAT) I am creating. How do I turn these off?   

The platform includes all leave categories in the new LAT with the default accrual rate as per the leave category settings. To remove these from the template, you can select the Override option and set the accrual rate to 0. You can also turn off the option for employees to be able to apply for selected leave types, if need be.
