How do I report on my organisation's RTI message submissions via the Payroll platform?

In April 2013, the UK introduced Real Time Information (RTI) payroll reporting. Under this programme, employers now need to send information to His Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC). You should follow this process every time you pay your employees, rather than waiting until the end of the year.

You will need to make one of two types of submissions: a Full Payment Submission (FPS) or an Employer Payment Summary (EPS).

The RTI Submission Messages Report feature allows you to create a report on your organisation's RTI submission and see details, such as the message type, request and transaction ID. You can also use this feature to download an XML file of this data.

Getting started

Run an RTI submission messages report
  1. Log in to your Employment Hero Payroll platform.
  2. Click the Reports menu.
  3. Click the RTI Submissions Messages button.

  4. Click the RTI Submission Messages tab.
  5. Complete the following fields:
    • Date range
    • Search term
    • Message types
  6. Click the Search button.

    Helpful Hint

    You will now see your RTI submission messages on your screen.

Data management

Download an RTI submission message
  1. Log in to your Employment Hero Payroll platform.
  2. Click the Reports menu.
  3. Click the RTI Submissions Messages button.

  4. Click the RTI Submission Messages tab.
  5. Complete the following fields:
    • Date range
    • Search term
    • Message types
  6. Click the Search button.
  7. Click the Download button.
