How to update the normal working hours per week field in HR?

Answer

You can update your Normal Working Hours per Week field via the Employment Settings page. Once completed, the field works together with the employee's work hours to calculate leave balances for your part-time workers. We calculate pro-rated leave balances provided: 

  • A leave policy is set to Pro-Rata for Part-Time/Casual Employees.
  • The normal working hours per week field is set.
  • The employee's work hours are set. For example: if your normal working hours per week is set to 40 hours and your employee's work hours are set to 20 hours, the employee will receive 50% of the allocated leave balance.

Important

If a part-time worker is assigned to a public holiday calendar, the public holidays are not pro-rated.

Enable the Normal Working Hours per Week field
  1. Click the  Settings menu.
  2. Click the Company Settings submenu.
  3. Click the Employment Settings button.
  4. Set the Typical Normal Working Hours per Week field.
  5. Click the Save button.
