With the View leave requests feature, managers, employees, and contractors can easily check the status of all leave requests – whether they are in the Pending, Approved, or Declined status.
The feature helps managers stay updated on team availability and provides employees with a quick, convenient way to track their own leave.
View employees' leave requests as a manager
- Log into Employment Hero.
- On the dashboard, find your leave calendar widget.
- Hover over the leave period to view the dates.
- Click on the pending leave period to approve or decline the leave.
- Here you can approve or decline the leave request.
View your leave requests as an employee
- Click the Time menu.
- Under Leave, click the Leave submenu.
- Click the Filter button.
- Filter your search based on:
- Date Range
- Leave Category
- Status
- Click the Search button.
- Click the Actions drop-down button.
- Click the View button.
You can now view the details of your leave request.
Helpful Hint
You can also view additional details of the leave request, including the date, time, approver, and payroll sync status. To do this, click on the clock icon under the Info column. A black box with white text will then appear.
View your leave requests as a contractor
Note: The ability to view a leave request is only available if the payroll platform has processed the leave request within a pay run and imported the pay slips into the HR platform. To view the status of a leave request, refer to the symbol under the Info column on the Leave Requests table.

Frequently asked questions
There is an occasional issue where external calendar invites in Microsoft Outlook show the wrong date, meaning it is inconsistent with the leave submitted in your HR platform.
Click on and open the calendar invite often corrects the date display in Outlook.
This issue is due to how Outlook handles .ics calendar invites. As this is an Outlook-specific issue, we recommend contacting Outlook support directly if further assistance is required.
