Here are the latest product releases and updates (organised by product categories) for Employment Hero for the week of 25th of November to the 29th of November.
Core - Security
Align MFA Across Platforms
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing platform security, we have introduced stricter controls for managing two-factor authentication (2FA) settings on payroll accounts. Users are now required to verify their passwords before making any changes to their existing 2FA configurations. This applies to:
1. Switching their authentication app or updating their registered mobile phone number.
2. Removing their authentication app or mobile phone from their account.
3. Disabling 2FA entirely.
These changes ensure payroll accounts maintain parity with the advanced security measures in place for HR systems, reducing the risk of unauthorized changes.
• Release Date: 25 November 2024

Data & AI
AI Inferred Status
This release introduces an AI-driven feature in the EH Jobs app designed to streamline hiring processes and ensure accurate business information. The system analyzes employer email responses to infer detailed hiring stages and amendments to business contact details. Key capabilities include:
• Detecting and tracking four hiring stages: Declined (with feedback), Requested Information (availability, CVs, contacts, references), Progressed (e.g., interviews or trial shifts), and Hired (offer sent).
• Identifying and flagging business email updates, including adding preferences or removing email addresses.
• Monitoring and updating stage classifications while maintaining a history of previous stages.
• Simultaneously tracking employer intent, hiring stages, and business contact updates until the application/chat is closed or a final hiring decision is made.
This functionality supports smarter listings on the “Find Work” screen, improving user experience and data accuracy.
• Release Date: 29 November 2024
• Target Users: EH Jobs app users
Candidate Withdrawal - Profile Update
Enhancements to the Job Seeker app now allow candidates to withdraw their applications directly via the chat interface by selecting “I’m not looking anymore.” Once withdrawn, their profile will update to reflect their new status while preserving visibility of limited information for hirers. This update ensures transparency for hirers while restricting their ability to make changes or contact withdrawn candidates. By aligning with ATS best practices, this feature promotes clarity and fairness for both parties involved.
• Release Date: 25 November 2024
• Target Users: Talent Marketplace businesses/hirers
Growth (Talent Marketplace)
Unique URL with Secure Token
To strengthen the security of applicant data in the web experience, we are transitioning from URLs based solely on business and application IDs to ones that incorporate opaque tokens. The current URLs, which are vulnerable to being exploited through other API data, will now include tokens that act as an additional abstraction layer, mitigating unauthorized access. Examples of the new structure:
• https://jobs.swagapp.com/AU/business/<biz_id>/applications?token=<token>
This update complements the existing five-view limit approach and represents a significant step forward in data security.
• Release Date: 27 November 2024 (Internal)
• Target Users: Public-facing application URLs
Email EOI and Reply Templates
Enhancements to employer-facing email templates have been introduced to improve their effectiveness and credibility. Key changes include:
• Revising footer content to ensure better compliance and trustworthiness.
• Highlighting the presence of intro videos in candidate profiles, if applicable.
• Structuring email sections with clear line breaks for better readability.
These updates aim to create a professional and engaging communication channel between employers and job seekers.
• Release Date: 27 November 2024
• Target Users: Talent Marketplace businesses/hirers
Exclude Businesses Based on Employer Intent
New features enable businesses to temporarily hide their profiles from job seekers based on their hiring status. Depending on the selected status, businesses may remain hidden for a set duration or until reactivated. Key functionalities:
• Businesses marked as “Not hiring” or choosing “Stop receiving candidates” are removed from the repository, preventing unwanted applications.
• Chats between job seekers and hirers are automatically closed, though existing applications remain open.
• Businesses can reactivate their profiles to resume visibility at any time.
These changes streamline the application process and improve user efficiency by ensuring only active businesses are visible.
• Release Date: 21 November 2024
• Target Users: Job Seekers, Businesses
Employment OS
HR Roster Award Costing
Previously, shift costs in HR were calculated using a basic formula that did not account for penalty rates or pay condition rules. With this update, HR Rosters now leverage the KP costing engine to provide accurate cost breakdowns, including penalties and overtime. The updated cost displays on the shift tile with detailed breakdowns available upon clicking. This feature is being rolled out in open beta to connected organizations, with a full release scheduled for January.
• Release Date: 29 November 2024 (Beta), January 2025 (Public)
• Target Users: KP-connected organizations
