Management notes provide a flexible option for adding text-based notes to an employee's file. This feature also enables you to edit or delete these notes as needed. While the Performance Review feature displays specific details of an employee's performance review, such as completion state, progress status, and start and end dates. A Filter feature is also available, enabling you to customise the visibility of reviews based on specific time periods.
Important
- Managers cannot see management notes unless they have been added to a custom security group and allocated access to that area.
- Admins can view, edit, change access, and delete all management notes.
- Managers can only see management notes that have been shared with them based on their reporting line:
- Direct Managers see notes shared with direct managers.
- Indirect Managers see notes shared with indirect managers.
- Non-reporting line access allows those with management notes permissions to view the note (doesn’t include reporting employees).
Management notes
Add a management note
- Click the People menu.
- Click the Employees List submenu.
- Select the employee whose file needs a note added.
- Scroll down to the Performance file and click the Management Notes tab.
- Click Write a Note About this Employee button.
- Write your note.
- Choose access level:
- Admins only.
- Admins and others - Then select one or more of:
- Direct Managers.
- Indirect Managers.
- Non‑reporting line access.
- Click Save.
View the management notes of a previous manager
Managers and Admins can view old manager notes when there has been a manager change during the review period.
Edit a management note
- Click the People menu.
- Click the Employees List submenu.
- Select the employee whose file needs a note added.
- Scroll down to the Performance file and click the Management Notes tab.
- Hover over the note, then click the Three Dots button.
- Click the Edit button.
- Make the required changes and then click the Save button.
Delete a management note
- Click the People menu.
- Click the Employees List submenu.
- Select the employee whose note needs to be deleted.
- Scroll down to the Performance file and click the Management Notes tab.
- Hover over the note, then click the Three Dots button.
- Click the Delete button.
- Click the Delete button to confirm deletion.
