The Employee Groups feature lets you organise staff into relevant categories based on your custom criteria.
This improves your control over user access, reporting, and timesheets, and ensures employees are automatically assigned to the right groups by the Payroll platform based on the conditions you set.
Helpful Hint
In addition to the Payroll platform's Employee Groups feature, there are other group features available to users of Employment Hero. To learn about the Learning platform's Group Management feature, which lets you set up and manage learning groups, visit this article.
Interactive learning
Getting started
- Log in to the Employment Hero Payroll platform.
- Click the Business Settings menu.
- Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
- Click the Manage Users button.
- Click the Manage Employee Groups tab.
- Click the Create button.
- Complete the following fields:
- Name
- Employees must match
- Criteria
Helpful Hint
Click the Add Another Criteria button to add additional criteria and click the Delete button to remove a criterion.
- Click the Save button.
View data
- Log in to the Employment Hero Payroll platform.
- Click the Business Settings menu.
- Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
- Click the Manage Users button.
- Click the Manage Employee Groups tab.

Click the Matching Employees button.
Helpful Hint
Displayed on your screen will be all the employees in the selected user group.
Edit data
- Log in to the Employment Hero Payroll platform.
- Click the Business Settings menu.
- Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
- Click the Manage Users button.
- Click the Manage Employee Groups tab.
- Click the Edit button.
- Make the required changes and click the Save button.
Delete data
- Log in to the Employment Hero Payroll platform.
- Click the Business Settings menu.
- Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
- Click the Manage Users button.
- Click the Manage Employee Groups tab.
- Click the Delete button.
- Click the OK button.
