You can change timesheet settings to suit your organisation's setup. The Timesheet rounding makes payroll easier by allowing you to round up or round down an employee's clock in or out time, to the nearest 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes.
E.g., an employee clocks in at 9:03am. You may want timesheet rounding to round the employee's clock in time to 9:00am, or to 9:05am.
This article explains how to:
- Define timesheet entry rules
- Turn on timesheet rounding
- Turn off timesheet rounding
- Click the Settings menu.

- Under the Timesheet Entry section, there are 3 timesheet entry options:

- Total hours/units if you only submit timesheets
- Start and end time if you want to use start and end times or using rostering/clocking

Frequently asked questions
1. Can I make a field required for employees but optional for managers?
Yes. Each field can be set independently as Optional or Required for employees, managers, or both. For example, you can set Cost Centres as required for employees but optional for managers.
2. Do Work Sites replace Cost Centres for cost tracking?
No. Work Sites also link to Cost Centres for cost allocation. Enabling Work Sites does not replace cost tracking. Costs are attributed through the work site's linked Cost Centre.
3. Can I make Start and end time optional?
No. When Start and end time is enabled, it is always required. If you do not want employees entering start and end times, switch to Total hours/units instead. Note that these two settings are mutually exclusive. Enabling one automatically disables the other.
