Employee contract agreements may state that an employee works a specified standard number of hours per week. Standard work hours pertain to an employee who works regular hours for a certain period. Using standard hours can help speed up administrative tasks like scheduling. You can configure the total number of hours an employee works over a one or two week period.
Getting started
The following outlines the steps to configure advanced standard hours for your employees.
- Log into your Employment Hero payroll classic platform.
- Click the Employee menu.
- Select the employee that needs standard hours configured..
- Click the Pay Run Defaults button.
- Under Standard Work Week field, click the Advanced button.
- Click the Edit button.
- Enter the start and end shift times for the employee's shift and their breaks.
For part-time employees, you can configure specific workdays and hours to ensure leave applications correctly account for their schedules. - Click the Close button to confirm the changes.
Helpful Hint
You can also change their standard hours to the number of hours that they work per day, rather than specifying start and end times.
Maintain
The following outlines the steps to export and import an advanced standard hours template.
- Log into your Employment Hero payroll classic platform.
- Click the Business Settings main menu.
- Click the payroll classic Settings sub menu.
- Click the Data Extracts button.
- Under the Data type drop-down, select the Employee Advanced Work Hours option.
- Select one of the following templates:
- Empty template
- Template with employee advanced work hours (including terminated employees).
- Template with employee advanced work hours.
- Select either a .xlsv or .csv data format in the File Format drop-down.
- Click the Download button.
- Log into your Employment Hero payroll classic platform.
- Click the Business Settings menu.
- Click the payroll classic Settings submenu.
- Click the Import Employees button.
- Select the Employee Advanced Hours Upload option from the Import Employees From drop-down.
- Click the Import button.
- Enter the required information and click the Continue button.
- Click the Yes button.
Helpful Hint
You will now see on your screen a status message showing the successful uploading of your advanced work hours data into your payroll classic platform.
