The Payroll Leave Management feature lets managers or admins approve or decline leave requests, view leave balances, and see any conflicting requests on the calendar. You can also submit, edit, or delete leave requests for employees. This article guides you through each process.
If you use the HR classic platform and want to manage leave, see this article.
Important
Leave requests only flow from the HR classic platform to the payroll classic platform. This connection is one-way, so any changes made in the payroll classic platform will not sync back to the HR classic platform. We therefore advise you to make any leave request changes by using the HR classic platform's Leave Management feature.
Submit leave
- Click the Leave menu.
- Click the Create Request submenu.
- Complete the following fields:
- Employee
Note: Enter the name of the employee you are submitting a leave request on behalf of. Do not enter the person's name who is submitting this leave request.
- Leave category
Note: The leave types available depend on what leave allowance, pay category, and the award that is selected in the employee file. To read further details on how to view an employee's pay details, refer to this article.

- Last day of leave
- Employee
- Click the Add button to add any required files.
- If required, select the Approve Immediately tick box.
- Click the Save button.
Manage data
- Click the Leave menu.
- Click the Manage Requests submenu.

- Status:
- Pending leave (This means a manager still needs to either approve or decline a leave request.)
- Approved leave
- Declined leave
- Leave period
- Leave category
- Group by:
- Employee
- Leave category
