Offboard a HeroForce employee

Available for the following plans: Employment Lite, Employment Plus, Employment Unlimited
Available for the following HR plans: Free, Standard, Premium, Platinum
Available for the following user access level: Admin

You can offboard your HeroForce employee the same way you offboard direct hires. But in this case, you can only perform this action directly if the reason is resignation.

Employee resignations are normally a very straightforward process. However, employee terminations and redundancies can be complex. So we strongly encourage you to contact the Employment Hero team as early as possible before discussing these issues with your employee. It will allow our team to make sure the correct process is followed according to local regulations.

Getting started

Offboard a HeroForce employee due to resignation

  1. Click People on the left-hand side menu.
  2. Click the Employees List submenu.
  3. Click the Actions dropdown button for the employee you need.
  4. Click Offboard Employee. 
  5. In the Reason for Offboarding drop-down, select Resignation
  6. Fill in the required information, including:
    • Reason for resignation.
    • The date that the employee notified you of their resignation.
    • The date of the employee’s last working day.
  7. Upload a resignation letter and make sure it is: 
    • Written and signed by the employee.
    • Addressed to Employment Hero.
    • Clearly stating the employee has chosen to resign.
    • Clearly stating the date notice was given and the last working day.
  8. Review the annual leave balance the employee is expected to have on their last working day and confirm that this is correct. If you find this is incorrect, make sure that all annual leave taken by the employee is recorded in the platform before submitting the resignation. 
  9. If the employee is leaving before the end of their notice period, indicate if payment in lieu of notice is required.
  10. Read and acknowledge the disclaimer indicating that all provided information is true and correct and that the employee has resigned voluntarily. 
  11. Click Submit on the employee resignation form. Our team will then review the information and respond directly if any additional information or action is required.

Offboard a HeroForce employee due to termination, redundancy or other reasons

HeroForce employees are employed via Employment Hero. This means you cannot directly offboard an employee unless the employee is resigning. Instead, you need to contact the Employment Hero team to begin this process.

Offboarding, terminations, and redundancies can be complex. They are also heavily reliant on local regulations based on where your employee is located.

Therefore, we strongly encourage you to contact the Employment Hero team as early as possible before discussing these issues with your HeroForce employees. It will allow our HeroForce experts to make sure the correct process is followed according to local regulations.
