The SmartMatch On-Demand feature empowers you to take control of your job search by checking your compatibility with any role you find. While the system automatically recommends jobs, you can now manually trigger a match calculation for any listing to see how your skills, experience, and qualifications align with the requirements. This ensures you can apply with confidence, knowing exactly how you rank as a candidate before submitting your application.
This article will show you how to manage the following:
- Check your match on a job listing
- Understand your match score breakdown
- Access match results as a new user
Check your match on a job listing
If you find a job through your own browsing rather than a recommendation, you can still see your SmartMatch score.
- Log in to the Employment Hero app.
- Navigate to the Job Board and select the job listing you are interested in.
- On the job detail page, locate and click the Check my match button.
- Wait for the loading indicator to complete while the system calculates your fit.
- Review your overall match score and candidate rating, such as Top Candidate, Good Match, or Potential Match.
Helpful Hint
The Check my match button will not appear on jobs that were already recommended to you by SmartMatch, as those listings display your match score by default.
Understand your match score breakdown
Understanding why you matched a certain way helps you identify strengths or gaps in your profile.
- After the match calculation completes, view the three percentage bars representing your Skills, Experience, and Qualifications.
- Click on the Detailed View to see a criteria-by-criteria breakdown.
- Examine the individual ratings for each skill listed to see how they compare to the job requirements.
Helpful Hint
If your result shows a Top Candidate banner, clicking Apply now on that banner will take you through the normal application process.
Access match results as a new user
If you do not have an account yet, you can still use this feature to get started quickly.
- Click Check my match on any job detail page while browsing as a visitor.
- Follow the prompts to log in or sign up to create your account.
- Complete the onboarding flow as prompted after creating your account.
- On the final onboarding screen, click View your matches or I'll add this later.
- The system will automatically return you to the original job listing and run the fit check.
