Global Teams managers handle the daily responsibilities of their Professional Employer Organisation (PEO) employees. Previously, task assignment across the organisation boundary was not possible because tasks were restricted to a single organisation. This feature extends task capabilities across the boundary, allowing managers to seamlessly track and manage work within the platform.
This article will show you how to manage the following:
- Create a task for a PEO team member
- Track tasks assigned to a PEO team member
- Update or reassign a PEO task
- Review automated task notifications
Create a task for a PEO team member
- Log in to Employment Hero.
- Click the Tasks icon on the left-hand menu.
- Click the Create Task button.
- Enter a descriptive name for the task in the Name field.
- Select the task assignment type under the Task assignment options.
- Select your linked PEO employee from the Owners drop-down menu.
- Enter details in the Description (Optional) field.
- Select the relevant dates in the Assigned date and Due date fields.
- Add any necessary items in the Collaborators, Subtasks, or Comments fields.
- Click the Create button.
Important
You can only assign tasks to PEO employees who are currently active and linked to your account. Terminated or unlinked PEO employees will not appear as assignable options.
Track tasks assigned to a PEO team member
- Log in to Employment Hero.
- Click the Tasks icon on the left-hand menu.
- Click the My Tasks or Tasks Created tab to view tasks assigned to your PEO employee alongside other tasks you manage.
Helpful Hint
Tasks assigned across the organisation boundary display an Assigned by HeroForce badge next to the task name. This badge is visible to both you and the PEO employee. You cannot view tasks belonging to PEO employees who are not linked to your account.
Update or reassign a PEO task
- Log in to Employment Hero.
- Click the Tasks icon on the left-hand menu.
- Click the specific task name to open the task details.
- Modify the task progress or update fields as required. Updates are automatically reflected in the employee view.
- Click the assignment field to select another eligible person if responsibilities change. Once reassigned, the task moves to the new assignee, and the original PEO employee no longer sees it.
Unrelated managers who are not linked to the PEO employee are not permitted to update or reassign these tasks.
Review automated task notifications
The platform automatically sends daily task reminders to keep you updated on progress:
- Overdue tasks: When a task assigned to your PEO employee is overdue, you will receive an automated reminder email.
- Incomplete tasks: If a task is incomplete and due soon, both you and the PEO employee will receive separate automated reminder emails.
Automated reminders will not be sent to you if your manager account becomes inactive.
