Sending and requesting feedback

Available for the following plans: Plus, Unlimited HR, Engage, Elite, Unlimited HR+Payroll
Available for the following User Access levels: Employee, Manager

Feedback is crucial for personal and business growth, enabling both positive acknowledgements and constructive suggestions. The Feedback feature facilitates the exchange of feedback among all users, allowing for recognition of strengths and identification of areas for improvement. All feedback is collected into a centralised section for employees and managers to review together. Additionally, a comment thread is included to encourage a continuous feedback loop between the sender and receiver.

How Feedback is organised

The Feedback page is split into three tabs:

  • My feedback – feedback about you, whether you requested it or a colleague gave it to you directly.
  • Colleague feedback – feedback you've given about others, plus any requests colleagues have sent asking you to provide feedback about them.
  • Management – lets managers and admins look up an employee and view the feedback they've received. Managers can view feedback for their direct reports; Admins and Owners can view feedback for any employee in the organisation.

Each piece of feedback shows a status: Requested means feedback has been asked for but not yet provided; Received or Given means the feedback has been provided, shown from the recipient's or giver's perspective.

Getting started

Adding a comment
  1. Click the   Development menu.
  2. Click the Feedback submenu.
  3. Click the My feedback or Colleague feedback tab.
  4. Click the feedback you wish to comment on.
  5. Enter your comment and click the Send button.

Daily activities

Giving feedback
  1. Click the   Development menu.
  2. Click the Feedback submenu.
  3. Click the Colleague feedback tab.
  4. Click the Give feedback button.

  5. Select the feedback recipient from the Who is this feedback for? drop-down.
  6. Enter the feedback you want to provide in the Your feedback field.

    Helpful Hint

    Not sure what to write? Type a few points and click the magic wand icon to generate a draft message, which you can refine before sending.

  7. Use the paper clip to add any required attachments.

    Helpful Hint

    The file types you can upload include PDF, JPG, PNG and GIF, and the file size limit is 10mb.

  8. Select from the following sharing options:

    • Recipient's Managers.

    Helpful Hint

    Selecting the Recipient's Managers sharing option will send this feedback to the employee's primary and secondary managers.

    • Recipient.
  9. Click the Send button.
Request feedback from an employee
  1. Select the Development menu item, then select the Feedback sub-menu.
  2. Click the My feedback tab.
  3. Click the Request feedback button.

  4. Select who you'd like feedback from in the Who is this feedback for? drop-down.
  5. Enter what you'd like feedback on in the Your feedback field.
  6. Use the paper clip to add any required attachments.

Viewing feedback about you
  1. Click the   Development menu.
  2. Click the Feedback submenu.
  3. Click the My feedback tab. This shows all feedback you've received, whether it was requested by you or given to you directly.
  4. Click the feedback you wish to view.
Viewing feedback you've given
  1. Click the   Development menu.
  2. Click the Feedback submenu.
  3. Click the Colleague feedback tab. This shows feedback you've given to colleagues, as well as any pending requests colleagues have sent asking you to give them feedback.
  4. Click the feedback you wish to view.
View feedback for an employee (Management)

Important

Managers can only view feedback received by their direct reports. Admins and Owners can view feedback received by any employee in the organisation.

  1. Click the   Development menu.
  2. Click the Feedback submenu.
  3. Click the Management tab.
  4. Search for and select an employee in the View feedback of field.
  5. Click the feedback you wish to view. This tab shows feedback that has been received by the selected employee.

Editing data

Edit a comment
  1. Click the   Development menu.
  2. Click the Feedback submenu.
  3. Click the feedback you wish to edit.
  4. Click the Three Dots button.
  5. Click the Edit button

  6. Make the required changes and click the Save button.

Removing data

Deleting a comment
  1. Click the   Development menu.
  2. Click the Feedback submenu.
  3. Click the My feedback or Colleague feedback tab.
  4. Click the feedback you wish to delete.
  5. Click the Three Dots button.
  6. Click the Delete button
