Overview
As an organisation, when you move from your previous payroll platform over to Employment Hero Payroll, you would have other income and/or benefits accrued by your employees that would need transferring. This would include your employees' benefits in kind, gains/profits from employee share plans, income from overseas employment/pension funds, and income tax borne by the employer.
The Importing Other Income and/or Benefits feature allows to export a CSV template containing the other income and/or benefits data stored within your payroll platform. Once you have downloaded this template, you can then edit this information, and then re-upload the CSV file onto your platform.

Maintain
The below premises will walk you through how you can export and/or import your organisation's other income and/or benefits data.
- Log into your Employment Hero Payroll platform.
- Click the Business Settings menu.
- Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
- Click the Import Other Income/Benefits button.
- Click the Export button.
- Choose the applicable data type.
- Select from the following file formats:
- XLSX.
- CSV.
- Click the Download button.
- Log into your Employment Hero Payroll platform.
- Click the Business Settings menu.
- Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
- Click the Opening Balances button.
- Click the Income Type drop-down and select:
- Benefits in kind.
- Gains/profits from employee share plans.
- Income from overseas employment/pension fund.
- Income tax borne by employer.
- Click the Select File button.
- Click the Confirm Upload button.
Helpful Hint
After the importing process finishes, a summary appears on your screen outlining what data uploaded successfully and what errors occurred.

So you have now imported your other income/and or benefits and you are now wondering what next can I do. There are two recommendations I would make on this front and they are:
- Payroll Platform: Granting Managers Restricted Access This feature allows you to create your own security groups based on what your managers need access to within your platform.
- Payroll Platform: Manage Employee Groups This feature allows to create a new employee group and specify the joining criteria such as being assigned to a specific employing entity.
