Question
How do I complete the Covered by Employment Act field on the employees' profile page?
Availability
Payroll Plan: | Standard | Premium |
Answer
There are three dropdown selections and your selection will depend on whether you will pay your employee for work on their rest day and public holiday based on the government regulations, or more specifically, part IV of the employment act.
Select which option you want to select for the relevant instructions.
The platform bases the rest day and holiday pay on the below tables.
Important
You must specify the correct work type under the timesheet or you must select the correct pay category under the pay run so that the platform can apply the pay calculation accordingly.
Helpful Hint
Where an employee has the Advanced Work Hours feature enabled, the platform will calculate the average daily rate as the day's paid figure. For example, employee works 4 days a week Monday to Thursday, works 36 hours across these days 8th, 12th, 9th, 7th and earn $4000 per month. You would calculate the daily standard rate used:
(12 x monthly base rate of pay) / (52 x average number of workdays in a week)
(12 X 4000) / (52 X 4)
= $230.77
