Custom security settings allow you to create unique permission groups with varying levels of access to specific features in Employment Hero. This allows you to control who has access to what information and functionalities within the platform, providing greater flexibility and security for your organisation.
How to Prepare
- Create and assign Teams that reflect different levels of access where necessary (e.g. Management).

Instructions
- Select Settings.
- Then, select Custom Security Settings.
- Click New Security Group.
- Choose a name and description for the security setting.
- Choose to set permissions for all employees, specific teams or employees.
Tip
You’ll see your options are split into three groups:
Employees: The employees tab allows you to set permissions for this group to see additional information in employee files.
Contractors: The Contractors tab allows you to set permissions for this group to see additional information in contractor files.
Other Permissions: The Other Permissions tab allows you to give your employees access to the necessary features of Employment Hero that allow them to fulfil their daily duties.
- Select View, Modify, Delete and/or Use on the appropriate features.
- When you’re happy with your selection, select Save.
Next Steps
Once you've saved your custom security settings, employees assigned to this group will have updated access. These settings can be edited or removed at any time, with changes taking effect immediately.
