We have introduced a new suite of configurations for Salaried Employment Agreements to allow the employers to manage the salaried employees, who are under Individual flexibility arrangements, directly within the award instead of having to remove them.

This introduction, which is an enhancement rather than a legislative update requirement, includes the items below if they do not already exist within an award:

  • Pay Categories (Salary and Salary - Public Holiday Not Worked).
  • Leave Allowance Templates for “No loading” and “With loading”.
  • Rule Set to disregard timesheets.
  • Pay Rate Templates.
  • Employment Agreements for all employee types (full-time, part-time, and casual).

For detailed information on the changes, please refer to our guide here.

July 2025

1st

We have updated the award to reflect the Fair Work Commission's National Minimum Wage increase detailed in the Annual Wage Review 2024-25 decision and also includes updates to expense-related allowances. You can find more information on the Determinations here and here.

These changes come into effect from the first full pay period on or after the 1st July 2025. Please install these updates after you have finalised your last pay run before the first full pay period beginning on or after the 1st July 2025.

Special notes (other than pieceworkers)

Special notes (other than pieceworkers)
  • The timesheet should include start and end times for the rules to apply correctly.
  • All leave requests should be converted into a timesheet with the standard hours of work.
  • Higher Duties (Clause 20.9(c)) – The employee/payroll admin will not be able to select a classification lower than the assigned one. This must be manually calculated or require an update to the employee’s classification level.
  • A permanent night shift employee should have a double tag: Shiftworker & Permanent Night Shift.
  • “Day-to-Shiftwork" work type/shift condition should only be selected by Dayworkers who are transitioning to Shiftwork mid-pay run. This work type should NOT be used for employees who already have a "Shiftworker" tag assigned to them.
  • When a Dayworker transitions to Shiftwork, the "Shiftworker" tag should be added to the employee's profile at the start of the next pay run, following the completion of the pay period where Dayworker rules still apply. This ensures that shiftwork rules are correctly applied for the new pay cycle, avoiding manual calculations for the mid-pay cycle change.
  • Firefighting – Meal Intervals (Clause 14.3(i)) - Firefighting employees should only submit timesheets for unpaid breaks (i.e., breaks longer than 45 minutes). For example, if an employee takes a 1-hour break from 12pm to 1pm, they should log only the 15 minutes beyond the first 45 minutes, which would be from 12:45pm to 1pm. start and end times.png
  • Crib Time (Clause 19.4) – Paid crib time that must be compensated at the applicable overtime rate should not be recorded as breaks in timesheets. Instead, it should be entered and treated as regular working hours.
    • The work type "Crib time/meal break ordinary rate" is specifically for hours that must be paid at the ordinary hourly rate. It is the responsibility of both the employee and employer to ensure that only the correct hours are assigned to this work type.
  • For the following allowances/travel time, employees should submit timesheets in units to ensure that penalty rates for actual work hours are not impacted by the assumed end time of travel time:
    • Clause 23.9 – Working away from usual workplace – Excess travel costs allowance (not bushworkers, full-time employees)
    • Clause 23.10 – Travelling allowance – Daily travel
    • Clause 23.11 – Travelling allowance – Change of residence
    • Clause 23.12 – Travelling allowance – Distant work
    • Clause 23.12 – Travelling allowance – Bushworkers other than pieceworkers
    • Clause 26.14 – Transport for employees after overtime
  • The clauses listed in the table below were not included in the award. If you require any of these clauses, the award must be created or customised accordingly.
