Using the one-click job posting widget

As an HR admin, Employment Hero offers a One-Click Job Posting widget that allows you to quickly post job openings directly from your dashboard using natural language. This feature automatically matches your role with suitable candidates from our talent pool and distributes your job to the Employment Hero Jobs Board.

This streamlined process helps you capture hiring opportunities immediately, without navigating through multiple screens or forms. Simply describe the role you need in plain English, and our AI-powered system will transform your hiring need into an active job posting with SmartMatch candidates automatically invited to apply.

Further information

Viewing and managing recommended candidates

After posting your job, candidates will begin appearing in your job board as they respond to invitations. The recruitment area displays candidate engagement status to help you track progress at a glance.

Candidate status indicators:

  • Checking Interest: Candidates who have been automatically invited to apply through SmartMatch and are reviewing your role
  • Interested: Candidates who have responded positively and expressed interest in your role - these candidates now appear in your job board

Tip: Candidates are sourced and invited continuously in the background. Engage with interested candidates promptly while they're actively considering your opportunity.

Using natural language search effectively

The NLP-powered search bar understands natural language, making it easy to describe your hiring needs:

  • Be conversational: Type as you would speak - "I need a barista in Sydney for casual work" or "looking for full-time accountant Melbourne"
  • Include key details: Job title, location, and work type (full-time, part-time, casual) for best results
  • Keep it simple: The system extracts relevant information automatically - no need for perfect formatting
  • Review and refine: You can always edit the auto-populated fields in the modal before posting
Optimising your job posts for better results

To maximise the effectiveness of your One-Click Job Posting:

  • Customise the AI-generated content: While the AI creates a solid foundation, always personalise the job description to include:
    • Your unique company culture and values
    • Specific team dynamics
    • Growth opportunities
    • Any special requirements or preferences
  • Use the live preview: Check how your job posting appears to candidates in real-time and make adjustments for maximum impact
  • Choose the right workplace type: Be specific about On-site, Remote, or Hybrid arrangements to attract candidates with matching preferences
  • Act quickly on SmartMatch candidates: Candidates contacted through SmartMatch are actively job searching. The faster you engage, the better your chances of securing top talent.
Understanding widget limitations

The One-Click Job Posting widget is designed for quick, single job posts. It currently doesn't support:

  • Full ATS workflows: For complete applicant tracking and advanced recruitment workflows, use the full Recruitment module
  • External job board syndication: Posts are limited to Employment Hero Jobs Board and your careers page (no Seek, Indeed, etc.)
  • Multi-location posting: Each job can only have one location designation
  • Bulk job posting: Widget supports one job at a time

When to use the full Recruitment module instead:

  • Posting multiple positions simultaneously
  • Requiring complex screening questions
  • Needing external job board distribution
  • Managing sophisticated recruitment workflows
Troubleshooting common issues

Can't see the widget on your dashboard?

  • Verify you have Admin or Owner access level
  • Check that you have job posting permissions in the Recruitment module
  • Contact your system administrator if you need these permissions granted

Natural language search not recognising your input?

  • Include the job title, location, and work type for best results
  • Avoid using internal codes or abbreviations - use standard job titles
  • Try rephrasing your search in different words
  • You can always manually edit the fields in the modal that appears

Job description not generating properly?

  • Ensure the job title is clear and standard
  • Try refreshing the page and reopening the widget
  • You can always manually write or paste your own description

Not seeing SmartMatch candidates?

  • SmartMatch results may take time to process as we source candidates in the background
  • Candidates will appear in your job board as they express interest
  • Some specialised roles may have limited matches in the talent pool initially
  • Check your email for notifications when candidates respond
Understanding tags

When SmartMatch identifies and invites suitable candidates from our talent pool, they are automatically linked to your job posting. As candidates respond, they appear in your job board with specific tags.

Tag meanings:

  • SmartMatch: This is a candidate that has been matched to the role using SmartMatch technology
  • Checking interest: The candidate has been invited to apply and we're awaiting their response (these candidates are being contacted but may not appear in your board yet)
  • Interested: The candidate has responded and is interested in the role - they now appear in your job board ready for review

These tags help you quickly identify which stage each SmartMatch candidate is at in the engagement process.
