Here are our product releases for Week 35 of 2025, which includes August 25-29, 2025.
AU Payroll
Contractor Management Enhancements (Phase 2)
Objective: To create a more distinct and streamlined user experience for contractors within the platform. This initiative improves clarity for administrators and removes irrelevant information for contractors, making the platform more intuitive for all user types. This work is the second phase of our contractor management enhancements. Phase 1 introduced the foundational ability to classify individuals as contractors.
Description: This release refines the portal experience for both administrators and contractors. It introduces a tailored portal view for contractors, ensures consistent data presentation for restricted users, and updates platform-wide terminology to be more inclusive. These changes reduce confusion between employee and contractor profiles and simplify platform navigation.
Key aspects of the feature include:
- The term 'Employee Portal Access' has been updated to the more inclusive 'Portal Access' throughout the platform to cater for both user types.
- A tailored portal view has been created specifically for contractors, removing sections and information that are not relevant to them (e.g., leave balances, pay slips, detailed personal information).
- Restricted access users will now see a contractor profile view that is consistent with the standard contractor profile, ensuring a uniform experience for all administrators.
Release Date: 27 August 2025
Next up, we will be adding a bulk import/export option, along with the ability to assign custom pay condition rule sets and pay rate templates - stay tuned.
Target Users: All users who manage or interact with contractors within the platform, as well as contractors who have portal access.
Drive Employers to Onboard Employees using Employee Self Setup
Release Date: 29th August 2025
Description: We are addressing the current issue where most payroll users set up employees manually using the Add Employee Wizard, instead of leveraging the Employee Self-Setup Wizard. This update aims to increase consistency, minimise manual data entry errors, and streamline the overall onboarding experience.
Target Users: Australian users that are included within the Super Choice Market Place feature
Automations
Contractor Payments
Objective: To enhance the independent contractor profile, enabling contractor details to be pushed from HR to EH Payroll AU. This release introduces a significant enhancement for organisations using EH Payroll AU, allowing them to sync independent contractors directly from the HR platform to Payroll. To facilitate this, the contractor profile has been updated with new fields and dedicated tabs for capturing payroll-specific information, such as pay and tax details. This update also includes improved visibility into sync statuses and integration errors
What's New?
- Onboarding & Syncing: A new Country field has been added during contractor onboarding to determine eligibility for syncing to payroll. Currently, only contractors in Australia can be opted-in to sync to EH Payroll AU. When using the "Quick-add" feature for a contractor in an eligible AU organisation, users will now see a Sync to Payroll checkbox. The onboarding flow for independent contractors has been updated to be similar to the employee file process, ensuring all necessary data for a payroll sync can be captured.
- New Fields & Profile Tabs
- Job Details: To enable payruns, two new fields have been added to the Job Details tab:
- Employing entity (Required)
- Primary Cost Centre (Optional)
- Pay Details Tab: A new, simplified Pay Details tab has been introduced. This feature resolves FR-3257.
For now, it only supports an hourly pay rate. - Tax Details Tab: A Tax Details tab has been added to capture tax information.
- The Tax Calculation field is required.
- The Tax File Number is optional.
- Admin & Reporting
- Sync Status: The "Independent Contractors" list page now shows the payroll sync status for each contractor, indicating if they are successfully synced or if there is an error.
- Integration Dashboard: The Payroll Integration Issue Dashboard now includes a dedicated tab for independent contractors, allowing users to self-serve and resolve integration errors.
- Audit Trail: All changes made to a contractor's profile are now logged in the Audit Trail report (Reports > People > Audit Trail).
- Limitations & Noteworthy Information
- Permissions: Viewing the new Pay Details, Tax Details, and Payment Details tabs is currently restricted to admins and owners only.
- One-Way Sync: The integration only pushes contractor data from HR to Payroll. Importing contractors from Payroll into HR was intentionally excluded from this release.
- Superannuation: The ability to add contractor superannuation details on the HR side has not been included in this update, as it was not deemed a "MUST HAVE" for paying a contractor.
- Address Validation: The system does not currently validate the suburb and postcode pair for Australian addresses. An incorrect pair will not be pushed to Payroll, and the payroll admin will be prompted to correct it on the Payroll side.
- Excluded Functionality:
- Pushing leave and timesheet data to Payroll is not supported.
- Contractors do not have the ability to self-populate their own profile details.
- Automated notifications to remind contractors to complete their details will not be sent
Release date: Open beta: Postpone to after GG
Target users: Australia org only, EH Payroll AU only, All subplans
Custom Forms Uplift Slice 2 - Manage Form Uplift
Release Date: 27/08/2025
Target Users: Global Forms users (EU, Employment Plus and Platinum)
Description: Admins are unable to effectively control the lifecycle of forms (e.g. archiving outdated ones), which results in employees submitting to incorrect forms and creates operational and compliance risks. This also causes the deletion of forms with responses which cannot be retrieved by users. Without categories or settings to organise and manage forms, both admins and employees face cluttered views, difficulty locating the right form, and wasted effort maintaining form usage at scale.
Product features:
- Lifecycle management: Archive forms with responses, delete forms without responses, and complete forms to stop new submissions.
- Form actions: Clear, state-based actions for Draft, Published, Archived and Completed forms (manage, duplicate, delete, archive).
- Form settings: Dedicated tab for sending reminders, stopping submissions, and viewing metadata (creator, created/edited timestamps).
- Category management: Assign categories on publish, create/edit/delete categories, enforce unique names, and use default categories (20 total per org including custom categories).
- Admin access rules: Restrict form submissions so admins can only submit forms if they are assigned recipients, with unassigned forms visibly blocked.
