Accessing the Employment Hero API and Developer Portal

To build custom integrations or automate data syncing between Employment Hero and your third-party tools, you can utilize our API (Application Programming Interface) and self-service Developer Portal.

Subscription Requirements

API access and the Developer Portal are restricted to specific subscription tiers. To use these features, your organisation must be on one of the following plans:

  • Platinum HR
  • eOS Plus
  • eOS Unlimited

Note: Organizations on Lite or Standard Plus plans will not have access to API credentials or the Developer Portal. To upgrade your plan, please contact your Account Manager or navigate to your Billing settings.

How to access the Developer Portal (Self-Service)

If you are on a supported plan, you can manage your own API applications through the platform's self-service portal:

  1. Log in to your Employment Hero HR platform.
  2. Click on your Profile Name in the top right-hand corner.
  3. Select Developer Portal from the dropdown menu.
  4. From here, you can register a new application to generate your Client ID and Client Secret.

What can I do in the Developer Portal?

The Developer Portal allows you to handle your integration flow without needing manual intervention from our support team:

  • OAuth 2.0 Management: Create and manage secure credentials for your integrations.
  • Webhook Configuration: Set up real-time data alerts (e.g., triggering an action when an employee is onboarded).
  • Access Scopes: Define exactly what data your integration can read or write.
