What is Payday Super?
From 1 July 2026, employers must pay superannuation at the same time as employee wages, every pay cycle. Contributions must reach the employee's super fund within 7 business days of payday (with limited extended due dates in certain circumstances). This replaces the current quarterly model.
What is HeroClear?
HeroClear is Employment Hero's fully embedded super clearing and validation engine, built specifically for Payday Super. It:
- Validates employee and fund data upfront before any money moves
- Processes payments using three options: NPP/PayTo, Direct Debit, and PayID
- Resolves errors automatically where possible
- Provides full audit visibility
Everything happens inside EH Payroll — no external portals, no manual file uploads, no SAFF batch management required.
Frequently asked questions
HeroClear is not a separate add-on — it is a feature embedded directly into EH Payroll. Customers can set it up and enable it themselves when ready.
Yes. Employment Hero is listed on the ATO's SuperStream Certified Product Register as an Integrated Data and Payment Clearing Solution.
HeroClear supports three payment methods, all on Australia's NPP rails:
- BECS Direct Debit — The primary setup for most employers; no per-batch cap.
- PayID (Manual) — The customer pushes funds from their own bank to Employment Hero via PayID email.
- Direct Transfer — BSB and account number.
HeroClear operates under the same Employment Hero security and privacy framework. Payment-rail-specific safeguards — PCI-compliant payment processing, identity verification, and AML monitoring — all sit within the same Employment Hero security controls.
