‘Fund is not accepting payments. Please ask the employee to nominate a new super fund and update their details’

| Super error. | Super Batch Payment. | [fund] (USI) is not accepting payments. Please ask the employee to nominate a new super fund and update their details |
Explanation
Previously, these payments would often still go through, and the fund would manually redirect the money to the correct product after the fact.
Under Payday Super, the Fund Validation Service now checks this upfront, so if a fund is not accepting payments to a given product, the payment is stopped before it's sent, rather than relying on the fund to catch and correct it afterwards.
This is a deliberate safeguard, not a system fault. It's designed to:
- Prevent misdirected contributions from reaching a product that the fund is no longer accepting payments into
- Support faster, automatic reconciliation — removing the need for slow manual correction on the fund's side
- Keep super processing on track to land within the 7-day window Payday Super requires
- Ensure any returned funds come back within 3 business days, so you can quickly correct and resubmit
Solution
When you see this error, check the employee's super fund details and confirm the product/account they're linked to is accurate. Updating this should resolve the validation error on resubmission.
Please let us know if the problem persists even after updating the impacted employees' details and recreating the super batch.
