Performance reviews hold valuable feedback, but reading through multiple review cycles to find key themes or decide what to focus on next takes time. With Hero AI, you can ask questions about performance reviews and get clear, concise summaries — without having to read every response manually. Hero AI only ever surfaces review data you are already authorised to see, based on the access configured when the review was created.

Ask Hero AI about your own performance review
Use the Hero AI chat to ask questions about your own performance reviews and receive a summary of your feedback across review cycles.
- Log in to Employment Hero.
- From the Employment Hero dashboard, click the Hero AI chat icon to open the chat panel.
- In the chat input field, type your question about your performance review — for example, "What were the key themes in my last performance review?" or "Summarise my feedback from the past year."
- Hero AI will respond with a summary based on the performance review data you have access to. Review the response in the chat window.
- Ask follow-up questions as needed to explore specific areas of your feedback.
Ask Hero AI about an employee's performance review
If you have been granted view access to another employee's performance review or you are the direct manager of the employee, you can ask Hero AI questions about it — for example, to prepare for a performance conversation or understand performance trends over time.
- Log in to Employment Hero.
- From the Employment Hero dashboard, click the Hero AI chat icon to open the chat panel.
- In the chat input field, type your question about the employee's performance review — for example, "Summarise [employee name]'s performance review feedback" or "What are the key strengths identified in [employee name]'s reviews?"
- Hero AI will respond using only the review data you are authorised to view, as configured when the review was created. Review the response in the chat window.
- Ask follow-up questions as needed to help you prepare for your conversation or identify performance trends.

No. Hero AI only uses performance review data that you are already permitted to view, based on the access configured when the review was created. It does not grant any additional access beyond your existing permissions.
If Hero AI cannot find a review you expect to see, check with your Admin that view access was correctly configured when the review was set up. Hero AI reflects the access permissions already in place — it cannot retrieve reviews you have not been granted access to.
Hero AI can summarise any performance review data you are authorised to view. This includes your own reviews and any other employee reviews you have been granted view access to as part of the review setup.
