Set up and manage salary sacrifice to your superannuation account via Money

In EH Work you can boost your super by making voluntary contributions to your super account via the salary sacrifice feature. Salary sacrificing via EH Work means that your employer will add your voluntary contributions to your super account before it is taxed. 

This article explains how to:

Set up a salary sacrifice super contribution

Add a new salary sacrifice to your super account
  1. Log into the EH Work app.
  2. Tap on the Money icon.
  3. Tap on Super along the top bar.

  4. On the Super home screen, tap on Boost now.

  5. Once you have read the salary sacrifice blurb, you will need to select which income stream you would like your salary sacrifice to come from.

  6. You will need to select whether you want to contribute a percentage of your salary or a dollar amount.
  7. Once you have selected the amount, read and accept the declaration, then tap Next.

  8. You have the option to add a preserve amount. Add your preserve amount, then tap Next.

    Helpful Hint

    A preserve amount is an amount is the minimum amount your pay must be to be able to make a voluntary salary sacrifice super contribution.

  9. Select when you would like to start and stop your contributions, then tap Next.

    Tick I don't want my contributions to end if you want to make ongoing contributions.

  10. Ensure that your details are correct, then tap Confirm.

Edit a salary sacrifice to your super account
At this stage, there is no option to edit an existing salary sacrifice contribution. You will need to cancel your existing contribution and create a new one by tapping on the plus button.
Cancel a salary sacrifice to your super account
  1. Log into the EH Work app.
  2. Tap on the Money icon.

  4. Tap on the Salary Sacrifice tile.

  5. If you have an active contribution set up, tap on Stop my contributions.

    Helpful Hint

    A contribution must be in the Active list to be stopped. If the contribution that you want to stop is in the Pending column, you will need to wait until the contribution is active, which is the contribution start date.

  Can I request more than 1 salary sacrifice in Money?  

No. At this stage, you can only request 1 salary sacrifice into your superannuation account.

  Are existing salary sacrifices displayed?  

No. Only salary sacrifices set up through EH Work will display in Money.

  Are salary sacrifice requests recorded against the employee in my HR/payroll software?  

At this stage, no, they are not recorded against the employee profile. We suggest saving the request email and the update record in your payroll software as evidence of the transaction.

We will be looking to provide this functionality in the future.

  We have our own process for requesting salary sacrifices. Can I disable this feature for my employees?  

No, you cannot disable this feature for your employees at this stage.

  Are salary sacrifice requests automatically processed?  

No. Requests are sent to your payroll admin to be added manually in your HR/payroll software.

The email your HR/payroll admin receives is a ‘Request to set up’ or ‘Request to cancel’ a salary sacrifice agreement.

  I am a manager or admin. How long do I have to respond to salary sacrifice requests?  

Each request from your employee comes with a start date and optional stop date. The start date is a minimum 7 days from the date of submission.

This gives you at least 7 days to respond to the request and notify your employee that you have rejected the salary sacrifice request.

For a request to stop, this is also dated 7 days minimum from the date of submission.

  I am a manager/admin and I have rejected my employee's request for a salary sacrifice. How do I update the status?  

Reply to the request email notifying your employee of the decision. After the requested start date, the employee can send a cancellation request in EH Work. This will mark the request as archived for your employee.

  How do I cancel a salary sacrifice as an employee?
