Hero AI, the artificial intelligence (AI) feature in Employment Hero, lets you check management notes within the AI conversation. You do not need to open the employee's file. Just ask a question and get a clear, accurate answer. This is useful when you prepare for a one-on-one or a performance conversation.
Hero AI only shows you what you are already allowed to see. If no visible notes are available, it will tell you so rather than guess. HR (human resources) Admins can also ask for company-wide management note activity, such as how many notes were logged last quarter. These results show activity numbers only, not the contents of any individual note.

Ask about notes for employees you manage
Managers can ask about the notes of employees they manage. Admins and owners can ask about the notes of any employee.
- Log in to Employment Hero and open Hero AI.
- Type your question about the employee's management notes. For example: "What does Sarah's latest management note say?"
- Read Hero AI's response. The answer is based only on the notes you are allowed to view.
Check which management notes you can see
The notes Hero AI returns depend on your access in Employment Hero.
- Managers can see management notes that have been shared with them. Hero AI never shows a manager more than they would already see on the employee's file.
- Admins and owners can ask about any employee's notes, including their own, and keep the same full access they have today.
If Hero AI cannot find a visible note for the employee you ask about, it will tell you that no visible notes were found.
Important
Employees and managers who ask Hero AI about their own management notes will be told that no visible notes were found. Only admins and owners can see notes written about themselves.
Request company-wide management note activity
HR Admins can ask Hero AI for company-wide management note activity, such as how many notes were logged last quarter. This means you do not need to check every employee file one by one. Hero AI returns activity numbers, not the contents of individual notes.
- Log in to Employment Hero and open Hero AI.
- Type your question about management note activity. For example: "How many management notes were logged last quarter?"
- Read the activity numbers in Hero AI's response.
