Performance reviews in the Employment Hero Work app let you complete your reviews from your phone. The experience matches the web version, so the questions and review rules are the same. Managers can also complete reviews for their team members.
Finding your performance reviews
- Open the Employment Hero Work app and tap the Work tab.
- Scroll the pillar menu across the top and tap Performance Reviews. You can also tap the Performance Reviews card on your home screen.
- Tap a review to open it.
Each review shows its title, its dates, and its status:
- Not started: you haven't answered any questions yet.
- In progress: you have saved at least one answer, but you haven't published the review.
- Completed: you have published the review. It's now read-only.
To narrow the list, use the filters to show reviews by date range or to view archived reviews.
Completing your review
Your review shows one question at a time. Each question appears as a row labelled with its category name.
- Tap a question to open it. The full question appears, along with its description and whether it's Mandatory or Optional.
- Answer the question:
- For a rating question, tap the rating that fits. Each rating shows its label and its number, such as Exceeds Expectations.
- For a written question, type your response. The keyboard opens and the text box stays on screen while you type.
Tap the next question to continue. Only one question is open at a time, so the question you had open closes.
Use the formatting options to make your text bold or italic, or to add bullet points. Your formatting is kept when you save and reopen the review, and it displays the same way on the web.
Your answers save automatically as you write them and when you move to another question. You don't need to press a save button. A brief confirmation appears when an answer saves.
Helpful Hint
You can leave a review at any time and come back to it later. Your saved answers will still be there.
If an answer can't save, you'll see a warning. The answer stays in the form, so check your connection and try again.
Publish your review once you have answered every question.
- Check the progress above the Publish button to confirm no questions are left.
- Tap Publish.
Confirm when the app asks you to.
The review status changes to Completed, and the review becomes read-only. You can still open it to see your answers.
Important
You must answer every question before you can publish. If the review period has ended, you can't publish the review.
You can unpublish a review and make changes until the review period ends.
- Open the completed review.
- Tap Unpublish.
- Edit your answers, then publish the review again.
Unpublishing returns the review to In progress. After the review period ends, the Unpublish option is no longer available.
Reviewing your team
If you manage people, the Reviews list has two tabs:
- My Reviews shows your own reviews. You can filter them by year or archived status.
- Assigned Reviews shows the review periods where you review your team. You can search by review period title, filter by date range, or view archived review periods.
- Tap Assigned Reviews, then tap a review period.
- Find the team member. Each name shows the status of their review.
- Tap the team member to open their review.
- Answer the questions, following the same steps as your own review.
- Tap Publish, then confirm when the app asks you to.
The team member's review status changes to Completed when you publish. If the review period uses an overall rating, an overall rating field appears alongside the questions. Select a rating and it's saved with your other answers.
Viewing feedback and responses
Your organisation's review settings control what you can see.
- Employees can see manager feedback under each matching question once their manager has published the review, if your settings allow it. If you have more than one manager, each manager's feedback appears separately, labelled with their name.
- Managers can see their team member's self-review answers next to each question, if your settings allow it.
If you can't see feedback, your review settings may not allow it yet. Contact your HR or admin team to confirm.
Reviews that have ended
When a review period ends, its reviews no longer show the Current tag. You can still open an incomplete review to see:
- Any draft answers you saved, in a read-only view.
- Manager feedback, if your manager published it and your settings allow you to see it.
You can't save or publish a review after its period has ended.
Troubleshooting
Reviews may not be turned on for your organisation or for your access. Contact your HR or admin team.
Check your connection, then try again. Your answer stays on screen, so you won't need to retype it.
All questions must be answered before you publish. Check the progress above the Publish button to see what's left.
You can unpublish a review only until the review period ends.
