Creating custom fields

Available for the following HR plan: Platinum
Available for the following user access level: Admin    

The Custom Fields feature lets you create a free-text, single-select, or multi-select question. You can also set the user permission, if a user must answer the questions, and whether to capture the field during onboarding. In addition, you can edit any information and delete a record you no longer need. These fields will appear under the Additional Information section in the Employee File and Employee Onboarding features.

Getting started

Create a custom field
  1. Log in to Employment Hero.
  2. Click the Settings menu.
  3. Under Customisation, click the Custom Fields submenu.
  4. Click the Create New button.

  5. Complete the following fields:
    • Name.
    • Type:
      • Free text.
      • Single selection.
      • Multi section.
    • Hint.
    • Description.
  6. Click the Next button.

  7. Complete the following fields:
    • Permissions:
      • Managers:
        • Hidden.
        • View only.
        • View and edit.
      • Employees:
        • Hidden.
        • View only.
        • View and edit.
    • Mandatory.
    • Capture field during onboarding.
    • Send an email notification to employees.
  8. Click the Save button.

Editing data

Edit a custom field
  1. Log in to Employment Hero.
  2. Click the Settings menu.
  3. Under Customisation, click the Custom Fields submenu.
  4. Click the Actions button.
  5. Click the Edit button.

  6. Make the required changes to the custom field.
  7. Click the Next button.

  8. Make the required changes to the permissions.
  9. Click the Save button.

Deleting data

Delete a custom field
  1. Log in to Employment Hero.
  2. Click the Settings menu.
  3. Under Customisation, click the Custom Fields submenu.
  4. Click the Actions button.
  5. Click the Delete button.
