Update pay schedules on the HR platform

Organisations benefit from using a pay schedule as it ensures that employees will receive their payments based on the specific time intervals (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or otherwise) that apply to their payroll.

You can manage pay schedules on your connected Employment Hero Payroll application, and any changes you make there will automatically be updated on your Employment Hero platform. This will make sure your Employment Hero platform reflects the latest payroll configuration data and correct employee records.

  1. Click the Settings menu.
  2. Click the Pay Schedules submenu.
  3. Click the Update From Payroll button.

    Helpful Hint

    The Pay Schedule page will now show a grey Updated button and means Employment Hero has successfully imported your pay schedules from your Xero platform.

Ongoing synchronisation with the Payroll classic platform

Once you have connected your Payroll classic and Employment Hero platforms, Employment Hero becomes the source of truth for your company settings, payroll settings, and employee file data. To read further details on how to update an employee's salary history details, refer to this article.

When you first connect the two platforms, Employment Hero will pull the relevant data from the Payroll classic platform in to the Employment Hero platform, such as your pay schedule data. Any pay schedule changes made on the Payroll classic platform after this initial integration will automatically be updated on Employment Hero.

Once you have imported any recent changes from the Payroll classic platform, you can make amendments to an employee's file, such as their salary history. To read further details on how to manage pay schedules on your Payroll classic platform, refer to this article.

Why does the pay schedule show as disabled?

The Employment Hero platform will show a pay schedule as disabled if the data no longer exists on your Payroll classic platform. You can not delete disabled pay categories if you have used them previously in the Employment Hero platform. This is due to platform data accountability and to make sure that when you use the Audit Trail feature, we display the correct logs of what changes occurred in your platform.

What do I do if there is a data mismatch between my Employment Hero and Payroll classic platforms?

Any pay schedule changes you make on the Payroll classic platform will automatically sync to, and be updated on, the Employment Hero platform.

However, if you notice a discrepancy in data between the two platforms, we recommend manually updating your pay schedules on the Employment Hero platform.

  1. Click the Settings menu.
  2. Under General Settings, click the Add-ons submenu.
  3. Click the Actions dropdown button for Employment Hero Payroll.
  4. Click Update.
